Well, I'm bored, and I've been thinking about Arle a lot. The result is this topic.
Most westerners will probably go, "Aurl lol who's dat," and I wouldn't be surprised ("Aurl" because her name is actually pronounced, "Are-lie"). Her first games were a series of Japan-only dungeon crawler video games called Madou Monogatari. These games were developed by a now bankrupt video game company named Compile. In this game, Arle, the main character, would go through a huge tower, defeating enemies until she eventually reached Satan, the final boss (at least I think that's how it went...). During the timeline of these games, she was a kindergartener studying magic (again, I THINK that's how it was). These games are pretty old games, and aren't very popular except in Japan of course. Many of the enemies and characters in this game would later appear in the game Puyo Puyo, which I started a topic on here. ssbcforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=arcade&action=display&thread=614
In Puyo Puyo and Madou Monogatari, Arle utilizes many magic attacks to defeat her enemies (Fire, Ice Storm, Diamond Cutie, Bayoen. There are two other spells she uses that I haven't translated), as well as a sword-dagger weapon thing in Madou Monogatari.
SEGA now has control over Puyo Puyo and has released all of its games on Nintendo consoles (Dr. Robotnick's Mean Bean Machine doesn't count. =p). Puyo Puyo is wildly popular in Japan, and has a fanbase in the west as well (But I'm not sure how big it is. I have a forum account at a certain website and I'm sure they'd all FREAK if Arle was in this game. I'd also love to tell them about this game too, but I'm sure they wouldn't care if there was no Arle. I'd freak too. I'd go like, "OMG OMG THEY PUT ARLE IN YESYESYESYESYES! YEAAAAAAH! I'm hungry."). Well, now for the ratings, I suppose.
Uniqueness: To be frank, there are a lot of female heroes like her, but we all know that most RPGs have male protagonists. The enemies and friends she has couldn't be more unique. Seriously. As for Arle herself, she's not super unique, but I suppose she makes up for it in other ways. 5/10
Viability: She pretty much fits in with the RPG characters in her own special way. Sprites may be a slight issue. Madou Monogatari has lots of sprites for her, but I'm pretty sure it's not enough. Plus, she's still a kindergartener there. As for here moveset, it should be extremely easy. She uses a sword/dagger. Use that for her regulars. She has many magic spells. Use those for specials. Finally, she has the power to control puyo, those strange, jelly-like creatures that we've all seen at least once (the beans in Dr. Robotnick's MBM, the...things in Kirby's avalanche). That could be used for anything. (It was going to be seven, but her lack of sprites costs her half a point) 6.5/10
Popularity: I've covered this already pretty much. Although she does appear in English versions of Puyo Puyo, Puyo Pop Fever, and Puyo Pop, she's still not very popular anyway. She is, of course, a generally likeable hero like many other protagonists, so that counts for something. Also, she's wildly popular in Japan. Lastly, like I said earlier, she also has quite a fanbase in the west.
Basically, this case is the exact same case as Lucas's case, only Arle is even more popular in Japan then Lucas is and slightly less popular in the west. 4.5/10
Representation: She perfectly represents all of the games she's been in. She's the absolute main character of all of her old games, and in the SEGA saga of Puyo Puyo she is extremely important. Also, just like Ristar, she represents SEGA AND Sonic Team. 10/10
Final Score: 26/40 OR 3.25/5 OR 13/20
Now, a few pictures. (NOTE: I am only half-suggesting this character. I really don't mind if she doesn't get in. Just PLEASE don't say things like, "There is no way this unimportant character is getting in anything." Just don't. I don't like smiting people, but...

Just don't. I don't like smiting people, but... Sorry I had to put this twice, but I can get insulted easily...
EDIT: Moveset! (Yes, I'm THAT bored)
A: Regular up and down sword/dagger attack a'la Mongatari
Ftilt: Light Kick/sword stab
Btilt: Backwards sword slash
Dtilt: Low sword attack
Utilt: Upwards sword stab
Ssmash: Burst of ice (Ice Storm), freezes on high damage
Dsmash: Stabs sword into the ground; small waves of magic pulse out from impact
Usmash: Stabs upward with sword infused with fire
B: A circle of flame appears in front of Arle (Fire)
Sspecial: Sprouts of water emerge one by one, moving the way Arle was facing (Actually, I think this spell is just called "Water"). In air, only one water sprout emerges
Uspecial: A lightning bolt comes from a thunder cloud formed above her (Thunder). When on the ground, she can slightly move this to the left or to the right. In the air, it land right on top of her and launches her towards the stage (ie: when facing right, you get propelled Northeast). Similar to PK Thunder; faster, but not as far
Dspecial: "Diamond Cutie;" a charging move. The longer it is charged, the higher Arle's attack and defense becomes. This only lasts for about 1-10 seconds based on charge time.
Nair: Quickly spins her sword from the left to the right (right to left if facing right)
Fair: Spins forward, surrounded by fire
Bair: Stabs knife behind her and holds it there for a bit
Dair: Drops a puyo under her, with random power
Final Smash: Two ideas.
ONE: Bayoen!!; Arle jumps from where she's standing and yells, "Bayoeeeeen!!" while flowers and small planets emnate from her (This is actually what it's like in Puyo Puyo Sun and...any other Puyo game with animations). These flowers and planets cause a lot of damage.
TWO: Fever mode; Arle stands in place, excited, while tons of Puyo fall from the sky, all causing damage. A lot pf puyo fall and you can be rebounded but doesn't give very much damage.
If you don't like this moveset, I found another one someone else made: www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=11754493&postcount=39
Finally, I say this-if Lucas is in, I don't see why Arle can't be. =p
EDIT: I changed my mind, Arle matters to me now. =p
