There is Super Mario 64DS if that even counts. Appears as a boss then dies. Correction, if I'm correct, that was a whole other character, Big Boo, just designed to look like the King.

King Boo:
Representation: Representing Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart, and Mario Party. He's become one of Mario's big villains. 4.5
Popularity: King Boo is one of Mario's most popular villains (next to Bowser, Bowser Jr., the Wario Bros.) and is well known across the gaming community. 4.5
Moveset Potential: His A moves hurt him, but he has everything else (even though I honestly don't like the first one mentioned by tj). 4
Uniqueness: He is a ghost- A boo and he's the King of them. He doesn't even have legs. 4.5
Total: 17.5 Final Score: 88
The other Mario characters got higher scores.

I couldn't see how GENO could've gotten higher than King Boo, but for the sake of avoiding an argument, I'll keep my mouth shut.

I think DRMARIOX's reply is right, it does look convincing.

In Mario 64 and 64 DS, it's a translation error that leads it to be called Big Boo. In Japanese it actually was King Boo.
