Weird? Hmph. I am offended. I made that moveset.
I actually like using him. His Tornado Hold and Rock Ball specials are fun, and IMO Tornado Hold is one of the best projectiles in the game. His Back Air is also pretty good. It's a 4-frame attack and is a fantastic KO move.

Okay, cool. No problem.
I do think he needs to be buffed in some way. His up-close game is not solid. It isn't supposed to be his best area, but it could use some help.

And something I suggest: Not only should his regular moves be changed, but I'd like to request rock ball changed. There are more creative moves, right now its just a soccer ball.

lol. I mean, its exactly like the item for Soccer Ball. So... I'm just saying there could be more creative items. Like the snake gun (or whatever it was called) or the Gemini Lazer.

But I love smacking him away from the soccer ball the second he makes it then smacking it into his face... I've never actually seen a CPU use the soccer ball thing.

Man, darn. I like it. Maybe we could simply add a fourth ability.

Keeping both Rock Ball and Tornado Hold means you have 2 MM8 moves... seems kind of unbalanced to me. Leaf Shield reps MM2, which is good. I'm thinking something along the lines of Rebound Striker (Bounces off walls at a 45 degree angle and gets stronger and faster after each bounce, could be fun for Target Test trick shots and the like), Concrete Shot (Freezes enemies in concrete if it hits, otherwise freezes into a block you can stand on for a short time and acts as a wall), or Napalm Bomb (Essentially a grenade that bounces around, exploding either on contact with an opponent or after a set time).
There's also Gemini Laser (Same as Rebound Striker except doesn't get faster and stronger), Thunder Wool (Shoots a cloud up that rains a lightning bolt, but is from the same game as Rebound Striker), among others... it's difficult to pick something really unique, though. Can't have a shield move since we have Leaf, can't pick from MM8 (Thunder Claw would have been interesting), most unique moves were either taken by SSF2 (Black Hole Bomb) or are too powerful for a Smash setting (Tornado Blow, Time Stopper, Dive Missile).

of course said black hole bomb is really elpizo's dark portal thingy but it works fine with the other sprites. I take it you've had to brainstorm for cool moves in the past which is why you have such a thoughtful list. Anyways I do like the idea of Napalm bomb. Thunder claw would be really cool as a grab but when you think about it first of all there is what you said about being mm8, second of all it would be the exact same as Samus' grab.

Pretty much, I've gone through this thought process many times already for SSF2's Mega Man.
Hm, it might be cool to really differentiate SSF2 and Crusade if this game had moves from the middle of the series - MM4-8, while SSF2 has the outside games of 1-3 and 9-10. Of course, that would end up removing Leaf Shield, but I have an idea for that.
MM4: Ring Boomerang Standard boomerang, but for a twist, if it touches an item, it brings it back to Mega Man.
MM5: Napalm Bomb Described above.
MM6: Plant Barrier Exact same thing as Leaf Shield.
MM7: Danger Wrap A bomb in a bubble, it floats upward. If you use it directly on someone in front of you, they will be caught in the bubble while it floats up, before exploding. It doesn't explode unless it bumps into something or caught something at the start of the attack. It's essentially an anti-air attack that could be cool in some cases.
MM8: Tornado Hold Already in-game. Chose this over Rock Ball due to the Soccer Ball item.
Those are my thoughts, anyways.

there actually should be some out there from the megaman arcade games. They fit to megaman 7 style so they won't look bad with either MvsC or 8. The only one you couldn't find sprites from either the arcade or 7 and 8 would be the ring boomerang if memory serves. I've been wrong before and it's really been quite some time since I played those old jewels.

^, you can find Napalm Bomb and Plant Barrier there, and Danger Wrap can use MM7's sprites pretty easily.
Ring Boomerang... well, maybe Dust Crusher is an option? :s

I'm sure ring boomerang isn't the hardest thing in the world to sprite. Oh man, it's been so long since I've played the originals that I had better get to that eventually. maybe a move from megaman and bass would be cool as well. SSF2 already has crash bomb which is similar to pirate mine (or whatever it's called). Maybe that pushable ice wall would be cool.

True... but I got another idea - how about Flash Stopper? In-game, it stops time. To make it more fair, anything in a very small radius around him will be stopped for a few seconds (So you have to be practicaly on top of them), and has a recharge time. They won't suffer any knockback while stopped, so you can either use the time to rack up damage or prepare a powerful blow for when it ends.
