..? What do you mean? We're making it. Oh wait, just had a story idea. Master hand and Crazy Hand are playing with the characters and having them fight one another. They split the cast up, but one of them (probably crazy hand) gets really mad because Master Hand got some character that Crazy Hand really wanted. Crazy Hand animates his team, and attempts to attack master hand. In response, master hand animates his team and they begin to have a huge battle. That ties in with the idea of having them playing with toys. That's an interesting idea. |

The master hand vs crazy hand thing is totally special. And it works. It's different from the other smash bros games and it's original.
I think I'll put that up on the story thread too. Just for good measure.

Yes, guys, please look at the thread up there and post ideas there only, just to keep things organized.
As for intro movies. . . Idk. It will just about have to be "screenwritten" for it to work out. At the moment, I am busy with Classic, but of course, I can suggest ideas.
Anyway you look at it, we should probably get a better idea of the story first. Okedokie?

Alright, I think I have a solidified idea for the intro:
It starts out 64 style, with Master Hand and Crazy Hand taking the characters out of a toy box. After a bit of arguing, they line up the characters and pick them in a sort of "recess game" way, each choosing one at a time. Eventually, Master Hand chooses a character that Crazy Hand wanted, and after showing Crazy Hand's surprise, it cuts to both playing with the toys they chose. Crazy Hand animates one of the toys (maybe bowser?) and chucks him at master hand, who is then attacked by said toy. Master hand de-animates the toy and tosses it gently back to an enraged Crazy Hand, attempting to avoid the inevitable conflict between them. Crazy Hand then animates all of his toys, and commands them to attack. In response, Master Hand does the same, and a battle ensues with some gameplay footage and stuff like that.
The music would be similar to the first few second's of 64's intro, with the light, happy music, until they begin to argue, then it progresses more towards serious, then exciting, then epic music as it reaches each point in the intro.
How's that sound?

Now we just need to find somebody to animate it. Wasn't there someone in the SSBC credits who was doing "3D work" or something like that?
A 3D intro would be cool, even if it would take a while to make.
That, or we could animate it with all the sprites.

K, since this thread's been dead for a week and a half now, I'm gonna update it. Especially since Falcon is starting to push towards the release of Version 1.0, and I'd like to see it with an intro.
I've decided that I'll try my hand at animating some of the intro in Flash. If anyone has flash animating experience, you can go ahead and take the job from me, cause I've had the software for something like two weeks. I'll see if I can make some sort of preview at some point.

So yeah, I found a program I can make music in (Daisuke Amaya made it. You know, the Cave Story guy). So far I have a couple seconds of song. I honestly think it would be easier to do a song then do the animation to match, so that's what I'm doing.
I'm once again asking if anyone has animation experience, or anything like that.
So yeah. I'm going with the idea I made a few posts up and thinking about how the music would work. And since it sounds like Adventure Mode could end up like that with the teams and rival battles and what-not.

that program can make a very nice retro sound, but you can't make anything else really with it unless you were really pro. I could help if I ever found time but truth be told I'm only a novice. Just so you know finding a program isn't everything, experience is key.

Is he the writer of the main theme? I've heard he's also a composer so I wouldn't be surprised.

I know they made three or two themes: the main one (dah, dah-dah dah, daaaaaaaaaah), a dojo version (in the old demos), and a remix of the first one.

I think he composed and made all the original music for the game. So he'd probably be the one to give it to.
So far it's coming out nicely. I got to where MH and CH start getting annoyed at each other.

interesting, they have some serious talent then. Detta, when you finish I wouldn't mind hearing what you've got, I'm interested to hear what someone else can do with that program saying as how I failed with it pretty bad.

No, it's on topic since we're talking about the music for the intro.
I should be done with one instrument's track in around 10 minutes. Maybe. If I don't distract myself with something first.
EDIT: And hey, I got it to work into my own crappy rendition of the Crusade theme. So far I can see the animation going along perfectly with the song.
