See he fits in well ;D Actually, Nintendo owns the rights to the Dr Wright character and can use him whenever. Not sure, will do more research, but I think it is another company that owns the Sims series, but Nintendo owns the Sim City games developed with Nintendo.

They own Dr. Wright, who was exclusive to the SNES variation of the game, but they don't own the series.

Incorrect statements are incorrect. I've given you reasons that goes for his return. The only reason you've given against him is that he isn't in Brawl. Ridley's a boss in Brawl, does that mean he won't be playable in SSB4? And Brawl confirms nothing except for lapses in Sakurai's thought proces. (Mario having 1 less character than Melee, Mewtwo being cut, Metroid only having one character while Mother and Fire Emblem have two, Sonic having two Special Moves that are practically the same, Ganondorf still not using a sword, RANDOM TRIPPING, etc.) Yes, Mewtwo has low priority. If Jigglypuff got in instead of him, then what else does it mean? I strongly believe Mewtwo's absence in Brawl is enough to justify my skepticism (Christ, this sentence came out creepy). Take your fan goggles off - fanbase and past may be not enough to bring Mewtwo back into Smash (I'm not saying that he won't be for sure. I'm saying that he only could appear). And being a villain does not really change anything. Besides, what lapses? You rely on critics in terms of Waluigi. The same critics also say that Brawl is better than Melee. Also, I like your changes in roster.

The choice of a single character won't change the fact that Brawl is better than Melee.
Mewtwo's removal didn't make Brawl better in any way.

What?
I'm not saying Mewtwo is a bad character. What I said is that Mewtwo is not that likely to appear in SSB4 and Brawl is not as bad as some gamers say.

I know it isn't a bad game. I'm saying that you pointed out that critics liked Brawl more than Melee, and implying that Mewtwo had something to do with it, due to the fact that you were using that as an argument.

They own Dr. Wright, who was exclusive to the SNES variation of the game, but they don't own the series. Not sure what else nintendo owns other than the character, nintendo did do a sequel in a japan only release for the n64 with had first time features like turning from day and night, ghost, and the ability of walking the streets in a 1st person point of view. They made this game without the involvement of the original dev. Without a problem. I think nintendo possibly owns more than just the character Also, dr wright made many cameo appearances in other nintendo games, was top 20 on the japanese brawl poll (which really dont matter much), one of the few selected assist trophies out of many characters, and owned by hal laboratory which created the smash bros series. He is one character I like to see playable and nintendo seems to really like the character to still have him with cameo appearances.

IMO, Dr. Wright is perfect where he is; an Assist Trophy. And no, Nintendo doesn't own more than the character. Dr. Wright was exclusive to the SNES VERSION of SimCity. Like Link being exclusive to the Gamecube version of Soul Calibur 2. jaklub: My fan glasses ARE off. I'm using logic, which is something that you apparently can't comprehend. Like I said, the only reason why Jiggz got in over Mewtwo is the fact that Jiggz had been in the previous two Smashes. If Mewtwo was low priority as you say, he wouldn't have been the most complete of the scrapped characters. And what does Waluigi have to do with Mewtwo? Both are COMPLETELY incomparable. Waluigi is generally disliked, Mewtwo is generally liked. Once again, your argument is invalid. And the fact that he was most complete of the scrapped characters as well as a highly requested character, he will for sure be in SSB4. Many characters got in simply due to fan demand; the biggest example being Sonic. What makes you think that fan demand won't be enough for Mewtwo? Also given other factors that support Mewtwo, he is a shoo-in. And being a villain isn't enough? He was part of The Showdown! If that isn't enough to show how he is needed as an antagonist for Smash, then I don't know what does. And if you're seriously asking me "what lapses" when I GAVE you examples, then you're no better than Dr.MarioX in terms of making an argument. You are being too stubborn. I have disproven your entire argument. This arguing is pointless.

I'm saying that you pointed out that critics liked Brawl more than Melee, and implying that Mewtwo had something to do with it, due to the fact that you were using that as an argument. Nope, that's not what I meant. The part about critics was the response to "lapses in Sakurai's thought process". Only Melee fans state them often (and that's the problem - average players don't see the lapses). edit: oh, I see a new post of my argument companion has appeared. brb editing I have to say, your arguments about Mewtwo do make sense... but. You can't really say that scrapped characters had high priority, even if they were partially completed. If they did, they would be playable. However, a question from Pokemon noob must appear: when was the last appearance of Mewtwo besides of video games? About the Waluigi part, I've mentioned that before edits. It has nothing to do with Mewtwo - it was about "lapses in Sakurai's thought process" (visible only to few, who played Melee). Waluigi is disliked. By critics, not players.

Oh, so Brawl fans don't complain about Sonic having two of the same Special? They don't complain how Ganon is still a semi-clone? They don't complain about Mewtwo not being in? They don't complain that Metroid only has one character? They don't complain about the random tripping?
Now you're just talking out your @$$. THOSE are the lapses I said, which apparently you didn't read, which is evident in your posts.

There are differences, but yes, I've seen people <female dog> about these. - Not as common as the one above, but yes. However, is that really that bad? For sure there would be people who'd not like the fact they've changed his moveset. - I'm sure that if Melee wasn't there, much less people would complain about it. - Technically two. ZSS is practically separate character. However, you forgot you said how unfair it is compared to two Mother and two Fire Emblem reps. Did anybody use this comparison? I haven't seen yet. - Yes. But, show me more examples of the lapses. Because none of them (excluding tripping, which is still not as game-ruining as they say) makes Brawl crap and proves how broken Sakurai's thinking became. And, why so serious? Calm down, you're behaving like I was saying something bad about your mother.

Of course no one would complain about Mewtwo not being in Brawl if he wasn't in Melee.
That's confusing.

Arguments are serious. Therefore I must be serious.
-Differences in how they start up, yes, but both do the same thing. -Yeah. It is that bad. Ganon's using a moveset that slightly differs from Falcon (moreso in Brawl). It's unbecoming of Ganon, and I know a LOT of Ganon fans that want his moveset to be more like he is in the Zelda series. And you have to remember; people always B**** about clones. With Ganon, I can understand that, but only Ganon. -Ah, but there WAS Melee. You can't use that argument. -ZSS is still a part of Samus, therefore, doesn't really count. I've seen many people (outside of here) that say that Metroid should have at least as much characters as Kirby or StarFox. Or at least more than Mother or Fire Emblem. And I have to agree with them. Metroid is much a bigger series than the two. Mother especially. -I never said Brawl was crap. Now you're drawing at straws. I merely said that you can't use Sakurai's decisions as law, because he has done stupid things within Brawl. This isn't about how Brawl is broken, this is about Sakurai's thought process with certain decisions. You've failed to understand that. And you want more examples? Meta Knight's Mach Tornado having the highest priority, no Animal Crossing character despite having an icon, stage, Assist Trophy, Music line and Trophy line, Ridley being made a boss despite being one of the most requested characters, replacing Mario Tornado with F.L.U.D.D., etc.

-Ah, but there WAS Melee. You can't use that argument. If I responded "Why?", we'd go into a loop. So instead I'll say that some characters will always be dropped and people will always complain about that fact. Thanks for clearing this one up. - MK is overpowered. That's common knowledge. - Anyone complained about lack of Animal Crossing character? I've yet to see that. - I've heard somewhere designers stated Ridley was too big to be a fighter. I cannot deny nor confirm this one. - Actually, replacing Mario Tornado with F.L.U.D.D. is comparable to potential Ganondorf's moveset change in next SSB game. Brawl Mario, thanks to F.L.U.D.D., is truer to the series compared to SSB and SSBM Marios. But people don't like F.L.U.D.D. What if people didn't like Ganon's new moveset too? But that's just speculating. I'm no casual, but no competitive player too, and I find F.L.U.D.D. barely less useful than the tornado (which wasn't too good either).

Guize Guize Guize. Please. This is the SSB4 roster thread. Not the argument of whether Mewtwo should be in or not. Go put that in...the Mewtwo thread, maybe.
I'm considering the following changes: Adding Takamaru Adding Agumon Replacing Ninten with Gigue

@golden. As much as I like to see dr wright playable, you do have a point. It will not be easy to picture him outside the assist trophy category, especially if he reps a series not fully owned by nintendo. Without a logic explanation, I do feel we may see him again in smash.
What you guys think of the kid icarus series getting more out of smash since sakurai brought back the series to todays gaming generation?
Looking forward to seeing this new nintendo console in june ;D

But that's just speculating. I'm no casual, but no competitive player too, and I find F.L.U.D.D. barely less useful than the tornado (which wasn't too good either). -True. -Yeah. There even people here that complain about no AC character in CRUSADE. -This is false. Sakurai DID say however, that the thought didn't occur to him, but if he tried, he could've made Ridley playable. He said that Ridley would be a bit slow, though. (This was taken from an issue of Nintendo Power) However, data showed that Ridley was going to be an Assist Trophy rather than a boss, and Sakurai changed that at some point in development. At this point, however, he at least knows that Ridley is a wanted character. -Mario uses the Tornado in Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros., New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and the Galaxies. F.L.U.D.D. was in one game, Sunshine. Ganondorf has always used a sword in the Zelda series. And Ganondorf could be given a new moveset while Black Shadow takes his old one. I wouldn't like that, but at least it makes sense. This way, people that play Ganondorf for Ganondorf can have a more sensible moveset, and the ones that play Ganondorf for the current moveset can play as Black Shadow the same way. DGN: You don't have to add Agumon on my account. It was a joke. As you can see, not even I have Agumon. Despite it making sense for the Pokemon/Digimon rivalry, I don't honestly beleive that the Smash team would include him. And good choice on using Giygas instead of Ninten. The only problem with that is his "inexplicable attacks" are inexplicable. That, and he's OP. EDIT: Someone's been lowering my Karma....
