The reason Ice Climbers probably won't be in Crusade is 1- Programming is beyond us and 2- They're not really requested and 3- People rather have other NES characters (Little Mac/Mach Rider) 1- You can do Olimar. Why not ICs? 2 and 3- That it total Your reasons suck.

That made NO sense red.
People know who they're playing as by the screen at the bottom that says who they are.
@maiz: To be fair, the Pikmin don't do much on their own. They just run around and follow Olimar. Nana on the other hand mimics Popo's actions, and even does actions on her own.
TL;DR: Pikmin are used as tools. Nana is another character working side by side.
All this aside, I'm sure that it can be done. And you're right, the other two answers were just assumptions pulled out of the @$$. Hence the @$$umptions.

They would have to code it so that whichever Pikmin was first in the line-up would change what the properties of the attack were. But yeah, point taken.

Red: OBJECTION!
For the record, I bet that you didn't even know about ICs before smash. Heck, I bet 75% of americans who bought Melee didn't know who Fire Emblem was!
Mach Rider is a fun Classic game that smashers should know from that Big Blue theme. And Little Mac recently got a new game, plus his NES game was one of the most popular!
ALTHOUGH, the 1st reason is invalid. If you look back further into the thread, you can see a sprite sheet that has Ice Climbers in one sprite. What's the problem with that? And look at the OP. Only 1 person rejects them going in. AND they're really fun characters to play as, creative, with their double attacks.
Your honor, I rest my case.

If you haven't, why would you play Crusade? Dude. Your argument is invalid.

They would have to code it so that whichever Pikmin was first in the line-up would change what the properties of the attack were. All they'd have to do is make each one a separate item, essentially. An item that follows Olimar around and can be used for various tasks. On the Ice Climbers... I dunno what to say anymore. Pretty much every argument for both sides has been used.

ORDER! I WILL HAVE ORDER! HOLD IT!
What about the case of the switch when Olimar's pikmin move about? For example, when you use your side smash, that item would go to the back of the line, and the next item would be used. How exactly would that be influenced?
Yes, I've been playing too much Phoenix Wright.

A simple coding process as compared to making a following character.
HOWEVER, with the sprites on the first page, we don't NEED to have them separate. We can make them as one character.

And that would remove the annoyance of it being "Kill Nana and you win".

The only playable characters in Melee I knew when I first played it (Melee was the first one I played) were Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and the Pokemon. Especially Mewtwo.

member 777 : Why do you keep on calling me Adam? Its a bit uncomfortable. I'd like to see a dev comment on one of these things...it appears they're just letting us banter on. They're shouldn't be much of a problem; why wouldn't they be in?

Because having Electro as a first name would be kind of awkward. The devs probably aren't commenting here because they've already decided they won't be in. And we all know how immovable they are on the topic of the roster. The Minister for example.Although it would be nice to see this argument end with Falcon coming on and explaining why they won't be in (if it's coding related).

No offense, but that's kind of sad. Considering the series is Super Mario Bros.
