I wouldn't call them idiots. Just too easily swayed by rumors, which isn't necessarily idiotic.

I was at a tournament playing some post-game casuals in SSF4 when I realized what time it was and said out loud, "Oh, it's 6:40 PM and we've missed the rapture."
"Really?", my opponent says. "Well, we have six months to live, so we might as well loot this place and live lavishly for these six months!"
BTW I got 13th out of 36 in Marvel 3. ^_^
