But here is one question. Why not just have meowth to rep team rocket since it would be the easier route to take?

Because if Meowth is alone, the only connection to TR he will have is his ability to talk. @dmx: Those reasons BETTER be either legitimate reasons or personal views (that shouldn't take affect in ultimate decisions, anyway). I don't want ANY bull, especially considering that a Rival and Geno is deemed worthy for Crusade.

So then why not do the same thing nuke bros did by throwing in a few team rocket reference

Because it just didn't work. I mean really, summoning Jessie and James to throw bombs? Stupid. I like MY FS better. And why do you have a problem, this get's Meowth in, who otherwise WOULDN'T. The only thing he lacks is a Down Special.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of having Team Rocket in since it brings in Meowth and brings in an antagonist, plus I give you credit for the unique idea of Arbok & Weezing.
To me, it's just the idea of a 2nd Trainer. Also, as creative as Arbok & Weezing can be, its just very odd to see them as playable Smash characters. Not saying it will not work, maybe I might need to see more into this idea before I can go with my choice. Or it might be one of those ideas I need to get use to in order to be fully behind it. Though not saying it is a bad idea, it is just a bit hard to picture at first.
I really like the idea, think in a way it can work. Just need to see a full moveset first to be completely convinced

Representation: Jesse and James have appeared in Pokemon Yellow, but have really made themselves a character in the anime. Unfortunately, we give all anime characters a 3.5 for representation. Besides, the anime is far off from the games themselves.
Popularity: Jesse and James have become well-known characters and are some of the few main characters to stay throughout the entire Pokemon anime along with Ash. They get a 5 for this.
Viability: So, you're saying Weezing, Arbok, and Meowth? Gooey is currently the only character on the roster without hands or arms, but (in KDL3) he can use objects and what not without hands. Weezing and Arbok not only having a body structure far from a regular human, they can't do anything that the others do. How would they grab items? HOW WOULD WEEZING DO GRABS? Not to mention Weezing and Arbok can't really move around that fast. Meowth can and I don't have a problem with his viability, but Weezing and Arbok kill it. They get a 3.
Uniqueness: Uniqueness is based off of how different they are from the other characters structure wise and move wise...Arbok and Weezing are just too far off from the others. They don't get a 5 because they are so different because it's not different in a good way AT ALL. Sorry, but this too is a 3.5
R: 3.5 P: 5 V: 3 U: 3.5
15/20- 75/100
Sorry, but we don't take scores lower than 80. I can't believe you guys think Weezing and Arbok could actually be in Smash Bros.
Meowth could, but don't take away his pride- make him his own character.

If they were anime characters, you could pretty much give the Scizor part of Rival Trainer a 3.5, because he only used him in the anime. He's considering that he combines arbok and Weezing together(unlike my moveset, which I realized was impossible considering grabs, but Weezing could hold items/hold onto the ledge with his mouth) to get rid of awkward moments.
And the more complex their moveset is, the more unique they are. They're AT LEAST more unique than another dinosaur character with claws, a tail, and possibly a mouth. I.E. Ridley, Bowser.

I made my decision. I vote yes for 2 reasons. One and most importantly, we get meowth. Two, team rocket makes more sense to me than any new trainer.
Though arbok and weezing have thier reasons as choices, im still kinda meh on them. Is there any other team rocket pokemon we can use other then those two?

Representation: Jesse and James have appeared in Pokemon Yellow, but have really made themselves a character in the anime. Unfortunately, we give all anime characters a 3.5 for representation. Besides, the anime is far off from the games themselves. But they represent Pokemon Yellow. And Yellow was frigging popular and sold exceptionally well. AND they're Pokemon characters. Because "Pokemon is an awesome series", they should automatically get a 5. Now, because YOU don't agree with them, they don't? WTF?Popularity: Jesse and James have become well-known characters and are some of the few main characters to stay throughout the entire Pokemon anime along with Ash. They get a 5 for this. Viability: So, you're saying Weezing, Arbok, and Meowth? Gooey is currently the only character on the roster without hands or arms, but (in KDL3) he can use objects and what not without hands. Not to mention Weezing and Arbok can't really move around that fast. Meowth can and I don't have a problem with his viability, but Weezing and Arbok kill it. They get a 3. ARE YOU ****ing SERIOUS?!? I posted a ****ing moveset for Arbok and Weezing (as a tag-team, mind you, to cover the fact that they don't have limbs) What, do you literally IGNORE **** for the Hell of it?!? And Arbok would grab with it's mouth, obviously! As for not moving around fast, you do realize Arbok is a ****ing snake, don't you? Snakes slither relatively fast. I don't see how a ****ing BLOB like Gooey can move fast.Uniqueness: Uniqueness is based off of how different they are from the other characters structure wise and move wise...Arbok and Weezing are just too far off from the others. They don't get a 5 because they are so different because it's not different in a good way AT ALL. Sorry, but this too is a 3.5 Again, posted a moveset that makes them work, which in turn makes them unique for their symbiotic style of fighting. READ THE DAMN MOVESET!R: 3.5 P: 5 V: 3 U: 3.5 15/20- 75/100 Sorry, but we don't take scores lower than 80. I can't believe you guys think Weezing and Arbok could actually be in Smash Bros. I can't believe you think Gooey, Geno, Ristar, Goku, Aggron, Gengar, Scizor, and pretty much half of your other newcomers could actually be in Smash Bros. SEE WHAT I DID THERE?!?Meowth could, but don't take away his pride- make him his own character. You know what, DMX, if you're not going to bother to see what others have done (in other words, MY MOVESET), and merely cloud your judgement with your own beliefs, don't do any ****ing grading. Now, read the moveset, and grade RIGHT. And then, regrade Rival Trainer, and fix his Representation grade. Because, if Team Rocket can't get a 5, then Rival Trainer can't just because "Pokemon is an awesome series"! EDIT: And you know what? I don't CARE if I get modded for repeatedly swearing. You ****ing deserve it.

@smashking: No. As I've said in the first post, Jessie and James only used Ekans/Arbok, Koffing/Weezing, and Meowth in Pokemon Yellow. I'm not pulling a DMX and adding other Pokemon for the Hell of it. (Aggron)
@maiz: For "Sam's" sake you better be joking.

@golden I was going to suggest raticate or a hypno but nevermind, I was thinking more of team rocket in general.
By the way, an alternate costume for meowth in a team rocket outfit can possibly help throw in more reference of team rocket. What you think?
Also, I think arbok should carry items with his end of his tail rather than his mouth. Think about it, how will he perform bites and acid attacks with an item in his mouth?
The instrumental to team rockets motto theme would be epic

Hm, I think I'll grade Teh Rockets. Representation: If going by "Pokemon is awesome" then it'd be a 5. If going by my opinion, it'd be a 1 because of the mass amount of gen 1 pokes. Popularity: 5. Nuff said'. Uniqueness: Also a 5, since Golden made the moveset unique and possible. Problem is Viability, even though it works, it doesn't look right. 4. So either a 19 or a 14.

@ the song I Love it!! Its a must have
Also, I like the idea of arbok and weezing playing in a similar way to olimar/ice climber while having the switching style of a trainer. 3 packages in 1. Recycling 3 fighting styles together to make a whole new brings a fun experience. Slowly growing to like this idea.

I liked it so much better when you guys just considered Meowth. He actually had a chance for this game on his own. DGN: There's a reason he's named Rival Trainer because he represents the rival trainers "you" (not Ash) encountered through the game series. Weezing holding things with his mouth just seems a little weird. I can't believe you're trying to tell me that Arbok and Weezing should have better chances than Ridley or even Bowser. That's really disturbing. @smashking Yes, we could have Victreebell and Mime Jr. At least they have more viability than Arbok and Weezing. @golden Out of all the things you said, I have to comment on the last sentence. That's you recieving the punishment- not me.

I liked it so much better when you guys just considered Meowth. He actually had a chance for this game on his own. And we liked it so much better when you weren't a biased prick. You actually were respectible back in the day.DGN: There's a reason he's named Rival Trainer because he represents the rival trainers "you" (not Ash) encountered through the game series. Bullshit. Rival Trainer is Blue. He is not the unnamed douche from G/S, he's not Brendan/May or Wally, he's not Barry, and he's not Cheren or Bianca. He represents HIMSELF. That's like saying Pokemon Trainer represents all Trainers and should be given starters of all Gens when he's not. He's RED. And he represents FR/LG. Don't believe me? Check his trophy in Brawl. Weezing holding things with his mouth just seems a little weird. If you would've read the moveset, you would know that ARBOK DOES MOST OF THE WORK. Weezing just follows Arbok and attacks when certain commands are sent. Seriously! I can't believe you're trying to tell me that Arbok and Weezing should have better chances than Ridley or even Bowser. That's really disturbing. I have a question. Were you dropped on your head as a child, or are you just plain retarded? We are not saying that AT ALL. I don't know where you're getting that ****.@smashking Yes, we could have Victreebell and Mime Jr. At least they have more viability than Arbok and Weezing. Again, didn't read the moveset. And also, you keep changing the definition of viability. First, you use it to describe how easy it is to get sprites for them and make them work. Now you're using the TRUE definition of viability? Yeah. Use the real definition when it suits your judgement, huh? And no. You ****ing fail. Victreebel is in the same boat as Arbok and Weezing. AND, they did not have Victrebell or Mime Jr. in Yellow, therefore, they shouldn't use them here.@golden Out of all the things you said, I have to comment on the last sentence. That's you recieving the punishment- not me. Yeah, because you're too much of a chickenshit to comment on my valid points against your stupidity. And I have not recieved punishment yet. Nor should I.DMX, you have no place here. You **** up Gradings based on your personal views, make decisions that Falcon doesn't know about until it's too late (if I recall, this is FALCON'S game, not yours.) and act all high and mighty when all you are is a spriter. And spriters are replaceable. AND to top it off, you don't give a **** about what other people think unless they agree with you. It's because of this, that I am now taking my leave. I am done with the bullshit, done with the bias, done with how this game is going to become. Just some spriter's wet dream. Goodbye to all my friends; you know who you are. Sorry that I'm leaving, but I've had enough. Crusade isn't worth it.

...WELL THEN. That turned out interestingly...
Um... I do have to agree that your grading can be messed up sometimes, DMX. I've been thinking that we should just leave grading to PhantomVII since he actually knows what he's doing, but he's also not very active and doesn't really care about character suggestions that much anymore.
In any case, hopefully Golden will calm down and come back eventually.
Can't say much that's on topic since I didn't have much to say in the first place.
