It might be easier, and more unique, if there was a Pokemon Trainer who actually fought in the battle, rather than staying on the sidelines. I remember having a sheet somewhere with some possible things, like a Fishing Rod FSmash, bike as the run, Pidgeot as Up Special, etc.
Otherwise, there's 649 Pokemon, and you have to copy Brawl's Pokemon Trainer? How about a Hoenn Trainer, with Mudkip, Grovyle, and Blaziken? (All 3 of which are important, by the way)

How about a Hoenn Trainer, with Mudkip, Grovyle, and Blaziken? (All 3 of which are important, by the way) I have always thought this. Mudkipz are commonly loved. Grovyle is practically a swordsman. Blaziken is a Kung Fu Chicken. Everyone loves them. |

And maybe there could be options to mix and match those Pokemon.
You could have Mudkip, Ivysaur, and Blaziken.

Stamina was the only reason people played as Ivysaur, IMO.
If it weren't for that, people would always be Charizard.

Yeah. After 2 minutes, if the Pokemon aren't switched out, they grow tired, and their moves are weaker in damage and knockback.
