I can think of so many more Pokemon that would be more deserving: -Gengar -Zoroark -Scizor -Darkrai -Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan -Tyranitar -Aggron -FREAKING Raichu
Yeah. From the top of my head. And it's all that Igglypuff's too similar to Jiggs.

I wouldn't say a few of those are more DESERVING, as some are as equally deserving as Igglybuff (which means, not very deserving). But they are better choices.

Which ones? Raichu and maybe Gengar?

Zoroark (who's already on the roster), Darkrai (IMO the most viable 4th gen legendary if we wanted one), and I'd rather have Pichu than Raichu, personally, since he was a veteran and my Melee main.

The ones I don't find deserving:
Gengar, because the only thing it has going for it is that it's one of the first Ghost types, and it's role in one of the Mystery Dungeons.
Scizor, because it is a popular Pokemon, but not popular enough. Also, it didn't have much major roles in the anime or games.
Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, as they are simply Fighting types that are mostly overshadowed by the likes of Lucario, Primeape, and even Poliwrath.
Aggron, because it's just Aggron. Not that important, but it looks cool. One of the things going for it is that it was used by Steven Stone.
Tyranitar has a one up over Aggron by having a major role in the 4th movie (much bigger than Scizor, I might add), being used by the "Final Boss" in Pokemon Colosseum (and is Shadow), and a special colored one (Black) was used in a manga. But it still isn't that deserving.

Your entitled to your opinion regardless what anyone says, but great or poor character choices you need to at least give give some good explanations on why we should consider having whoever you suggest as a playable character. Something reasonable that can convince most of us, otherwise it just looks like another random choice. Just some friendly and honest advice next time you suggest a character and if you strongly feel is worth considering.
As far as igglybuff, im sorry but I have to say no. he or she is not a unique pokemon, is an infant version of the weakest character in smash so I cant imagine how incrediably weak it would be, pikachu had an infant version in smash named pichu and he wasnt even a popular smash choice so I dont see how this one is any different. Not to mention that we have a good 500-600+ pokemon in existance and to settle for this choice sounds like a poor decision. This is just my opinion though

if you don't like igglybuff, just put a pokemon example.

You mean an example of suggestions that are good? I suggested Zoroark and convinced Ralord (the spriter of Lucario) to sprite him/her, and now Zoroark is on the roster as a 5th gen rep. That's an example of a good suggestion. Pichu would be a good suggestion. Pichu was different from Pikachu in that it was much faster and more agile, but it's attacks did less damage and it took some damage itself. It was also a veteran, and has been in multiple movies and shorts in the form of the Pichu Brothers. I'd personally love to see Pichu as DLC.

You want a Pokemon example of who's a better choice? Meowth. Meowth was planned for SSB64, is the only planned character of 64 as of yet that's not playable in an official Smash, appears just as often as Pikachu in the anime, and is a very popular Pokemon. Also has more moveset potential than Igglybuff.

Except that Pichu's way more popular?

Pichu has anime relevance though (arguably how Jiggs got in and how Meowth would get in now), while Igglybuff doesn't. And at least Pichu was unique in it's self-damaging properties. Igglybuff would just be a lighter, weaker, more-easy-to-KO version of Jigglypuff, and it would be canonically much slower as well (Igg's base speed is 15, Jiggs' is 20). And heck, Pichu could easily be de-cloned from Pikachu. Just look at its egg moves; Reversal, Bide, Fake Out, Thunderpunch... not to mention that Pikachu has to learn Volt Tackle by evolving from a Pichu that knows it.

Pichu could have moves that Pikachu doesn't use, like Iron Tail and Electro Ball. However, Pichu is frigging light and hurts itself using electricity, which, although unique, sucks.
I'd rather have Meowth.

Meowth for the win!
But I still think it would be hilarious if Igglybuff had the most powerful attacks in the game.

My preffered choic would be another trainer, in all honesty. But which pokemon should he use?

Isn't this just a wee bit off topic?

This topic is pointless to begin with. We're just having fun until it gets locked.
