The Nintendo 3DS comes out on March 27th in the US and March 25th in the European Union (Darn you, Europeans :[ ), costing $249.99 in the US, while the individual retailers get to set the price in Europe (it's generally around 230-250 Euros or something like that). I already pre-ordered it. It was a $50 pre-order at Gamestop, but it might be different elsewhere.
So, opinions? Questions? Ideas? General discussion? Stuff like that? Post it here.

Two hundred fifty dollars?
Sorry, but I have inadequate funds at the moment to buy the system, let alone at least one game to play on it. Though I'll try to save up some money within the two months here and hopefully I'll be a bit less in the hole. I may also trade in one of my DS's to help towards it. (Don't ask why I have 2).
Though I have a feeling it'll be like the Wii when that first came out: hard as **** to get one. Cause seriously, it isn't even out yet, and already I want some of the games that are gonna be released, like the new Mario Kart.

(Don't ask why I have 2). I won't ask why you have two if you don't ask why I'll have three when the 3DS comes out. Cause I'll answer that for you: Reason 1: The left trigger on my DS original doesn't function very well, which is EXCEEDINGLY annoying when playing the mystery dungeon games, which I have 3 of (the three fourth gen ones, I had blue but gave it to someone for their birthday, along with a DS original I got for 5 bucks at a garage sale). Reason 2: I can trade pokemon between my games without bugging my sister. This also means that I don't have to stop playing when my sister needs to borrow my DS to trade something. Reason 3: I essentially have double the battery life when I bring both with me. Oddly enough, the left trigger on the DS Lite I got a few months after I got Mystery Dungeon Darkness stopped working, which was half the reason I got the freaking thing. It pisses me off, but the better quality screen is something of a plus at least. And I'm not trading either in, because I love them both so much. I quickly regretted trading in my GameCube for some extra cash to get the DS Lite, since I had the gameboy adapter for it, and playing pokemon Yellow and Sapphire on the big screen was awesome.

I may get one. Super Street Fighter IV 3D looks interesting, as well as Dead or Alve Dimensions (with Metroid features).
The only thing that will make me get it without fail is if they announce a Smash Bros. for that system.

I personally wouldn't be surprised if they ported 64 onto it, since they ported starfox 64 onto it. Although from what I've hearing, it seems like it could be powerful enough to play melee. A new one wouldn't be bad either, but they'd probably sacrifice character number over quality. So sure, we'd have a Brawl on 3DS, but with one rep from a few series. How many characters does SSFIV have?

If they include the Arcade version characters as well, it would be 37. (Or 39 if Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma are playable in the Arcade version)

Oh, then it wouldn't be out of the question to have a brawl-sized roster. Although it probably won't come out for a while if it does. Brawl took, what, three years and a couple of pushed-back deadlines? Not to mention that Project Sora and Sakurai just finished Kid Icarus Uprising. Might take them a while to make a 3D smash bros game implementing the touch-screen and all that jazz.

Those are good reasons, though none of those are why I have 2. =P Though maybe you could say I only have one, as I have a DS lite and DSi. But they're both just "DS" to me. And the DS lite was originally my bros, as he broke BOTH triggers, started forcing the top screen to come off, and dented the touch screen on my original DS, which is now somewhere in a landfill ;-; So as punishment, I stole his DS.

You have my condolences on your dead DS.
But yeah, I didn't bother with the DSi. I was thinking of getting the XL, but then news of the 3DS got leaked. And I would much rather have an entirely new DS than a bigger version of a new one.

I am short on money right now, so I'll have to see it in person first to confirm its awesomeness. I'll get one eventually. SSF4 and Kid Icarus are on my list.

Well, they have to make their money somehow, and their console sales are apparently dying out fast. We can only hope the games go for the same amount as the current ones do. And yet, it's going for 25000 yen in Japan. That's like 300 bucks. I think the US is getting it the cheapest actually, since the average Europe price is around 300 too.
At least we know now that there has to be a 6th generation of Pokemon. How could Nintendo not put one of it's best-selling franchises in full 3D? I sense something like XD and Colosseum, but with Battle Revolution graphics at the least. And with Pokemon you can actually catch. It also probably means that the 5th generation Mystery Dungeon games are going to be in 3D as well, so that's pretty awesome.
I just realized something. When they come out with the wii battler game for 5th gen, it'll have triple battles. I sense some epic coming to a wii near you...

I did research on the SSFIV:AE, and found that Evil Ryu and Oni (just called Oni, so I think it's a possessed Akuma) are infact playable. 39 characters.
Does this mean the 3DS version will have 39 characters? Will it have more bonus characters? Maybe Alex? The infamous Sheng Long? Mike Haggar, seeing as we have Guy and Cody? (Although, seeing as we have Zangief, is Haggar unnecessary?) Poison? (For the same reason as above)

Some footage for you, Mango. EDIT: Yep, just 35 characters in normal mode. EDIT AGAIN: It's apparently just a ported version of the console version with 3D graphics. Same everything. Not sure if that means your arcade thingy is in or not, since I haven't played the game. Also, an image for all y'all who're complaining about the price being too **** high.

Well, working for a wage is hard, so I'm going to spend my money wisely on necessities rather than desires. Plus, I think I have more than enough entertainment in my lifestyle.

"Same content as the console version".
Damn it. No Evil Ryu, Oni, Yun, or Yang.
