lol Don't worry, alienwares are definitely up for these types of tasks. By the way, where are you purchasing it from?

The official website?
It redirects to the Dell site for Customization.

Same here. Basically, hardwares should be purchased from the official site after all, they'll be the one responsible for shipping and handling. Also, the only time I would purchase off site is books.

I'll probably be ordering this around July August or September.

To make it look good on my credit, (Which this will be the first thing that starts it), I'm just gonna save up till I reach around 2500, then order it, then pay that much off, Then get the rest and make the 100$ monthly payments.

Yep. I generally stay away from computer games since they're crap in comparison to console games, but Assassin's Creed looks good. It's interesting to note that the PS3, a three year old (i think?) console has a more powerful graphics card than we can give a computer. Computer games are bad? I'd argue that they can be (and are) better than consoles, but that doesn't matter. And rofl. You really think that a ps3 is some sort of supercomputer? Within a month the ps3's release 5ish (not 3) years ago, it was already outclassed by the newest processors. Sorry, I just hate when people make assumptions like that. XD Anyway, that sounds like a beastly laptop. If I get/build one any time soon, I'll get one with similar specs.

People here should read more carefully.

The supercomputer thing was me replying to El Maiz explaining what the specs meant. I was saying that it was a supercomputer in (computer) gaming terms, since it was built to be a gaming computer, while most computers are just built to do everything at a certain level of proficiency.
I didn't say anything about the PS3 being a supercomputer. I was talking about the computer this thread is about.
And I haven't played computer games in a long time, so maybe I'm just a bit out of date. Computer games aren't nearly as advertised as console games.

Well, I meant the hardware in general, not just the graphics card. Sorry about the mixup. XD Well, the thing about computer games is that on PC, you can usually get the same games that are on consoles, but not only can you up the resolution/graphics to make them look better, you can also use my favorite control scheme for shooters: keyboard and mouse. Mods are also a great part of pc gaming too. I haven't even mentioned great PC exclusives like Starcraft 2.

Well, if you get it, I hope you like it! My opinion is that you could find something with awesome specs for less, but hey, it's an Alienware, so what do you expect?

This computer seems like a nice computer to play Portal and the upcoming Portal 2 on.

If you buy the ps3 version of Portal 2, you also get a copy of it for pc and cross-platform play between psn and pc. Tbh, there's no reason NOT to get it for ps3.

Not having a PS3 is a good reason. Not being able to afford it is a good reason. Not wanting it is a good reason. Your parents not letting you get it is a good reason.
