could've just posted this in the 3ds discussion.
3DS Buzz: Which is more likely, Pikmin 3DS or Smash Bros. 3DS?
JH: In theory both are just as possible or likely – however neither title has been formally announced as being in development.
I think Pikmin would be more likely. I can't imagine the toughness of controls on the DS for playing smash.

Wouldn't be that hard. I tried emulating SSB64 on my PSP, and the controls don't work that badly. The only problem I had was that it ran at, like, 20 frames a second. I think they could pull it off, and it would be especially unique with the touch screen. They could do the same thing they're doing for that street fighter game and have programmable combo buttons on the touch screen.

About the touch screen... It'd be hard during intense battles. Running around, mashing buttons, and taking the long time to take out the stylus could get you killed. Also, there'd be double tap for run...

They wouldnt make us use the stylus for things in battle. It'd be stupid. Maybe menus but not battles.

Menus and possibly mini-games, perhaps having to do with trophies.

And judging by what you said Detta, SSB64 runs very smoothly on my psp, so we can probably guarantee a good smash game for the 3DS. I didn't have trouble running the game at all.

Well, it might just be my emulator. But enough about that.
If the 3DS's graphic's card is as amazing as Nintendo says it is, then at the very least they could make a port of Brawl or Melee. I'd certainly like to see Melee on a portable.

I think that's possible, and scarily enough, just as likely as a new game (IMO). Nintendo does love its remakes.

I can picture SSB 3DS. The system has a control stick, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I can picture a Melee 3D Remake. Why not? It'll be a good return for some characters missing in Brawl.

I feel that it should be a new game, not a remake of 64, Melee, or Brawl.
Throw in the Original 12, add a few characters from Melee and Brawl, add a few newcomers and BAM! It doesn't necessarily need all of Brawl's characters, but needs a good amount (Pit, Wario, Sonic, etc.)

Yes, I agree. About 40 characters would be good, as long as there are a handful of new ones. I hope the gameplay to be like a cross between Brawl and Melee.

To be honest, considering data (how much does a 3DS have for a game?), I expect something like 22. But then again, I'm not sure how many gigs one card has.

They said they'll be able to have at least 2 gigs on a card.

Brawl is four gigs on that disc, I think melee was one or two. So a port isn't all that farfetch'd.

Wrong. Brawl is actually 7.6 gigs. Its a dual layer.
Without the Movies from the Subspace though, its about 4.

Therefore a port of melee is still not so farfetch'd.
Or they could do it on a virtual console and make you have an 8 gigabyte card to put it on.

No ports. Absolutely NO ports.
If I want to play SSB on the 3DS, I want it to be one I haven't played before.
