Remember Arthur from Ghosts 'n Goblins? I think he would make a good smash brothers fighter, wouldn't he?

Not a bad idea. Especially since he just appeared in Marvel 3.

I completely agree with this.
I've been working on a moveset, but right now, it could use some improvement.
Down Special changes weapons.
Normal Special can shoot any of the weapons in his games, and if you charge it, you can perform the magic it does.
In Side Special, he opens up a sarcophagus, a zombie comes out, and it can grab enemies in place (think Redead)
Up Special: ?
Final smash:Golden armor: Down Special changes all weapons throughout a cycle, like before, but just clicking the button unleashes magic, and holding it does it in a much wider range.
His side special also involves ghosts coming at above, and his moves are much more powerful.
Taunt is where his armor breaks, but using magic he quickly puts it back on, OR changes his sprites to Boxers Arthur.

Morrigan*
Chun-Li*
Shantae*
*=being discussed.
Though I WOULD like to see Arthur and PW (Wright) get in.

Actually... We have almost enough capcom characters. Ryu MegaMan Frank West Morrigan* Chun-Li* Shantae* *=being discussed. Though I WOULD like to see Arthur and PW (Wright) get in. Not to be nitpicky, but I don't think Capcom owns Shantae anymore, since they didn't publish a sequel, they said they didn't want to because of the flop of the first one (release dates not ftw...), so WayForward Games released it as DSiWare. So I think Shantae belongs to... WayForward Games. Anyway, Arthur would kind of be cool. Especially since he'd appear before the SSF2 expansion that's gonna be worked on. |

Ha, that's my point. Arthur's more well known than Haggar.
Does anybody have any good ideas for an up special?
The only thing I can think of is the arrows, but he has horrible jumping skills as he is.

The only thing I can come up with for his up special is him hopping on his horse's back and the horse leaps diagnal up in the air (as if the horse was leaping great heights). Or what about a mideival catapult appears under him sling shots him upward. Also maybe he can slash his lance or sword upward like marth |

As for Haggar, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_HaggarGo to Critical Reception as well, and you'll see he's more popular than Arthur. GnG is more popular and well known than Final Fight, but Haggar is one of Capcom's biggest names. Bigger than Arthur. Does Arthur have a meme title? I don't think so. Compared to "Mike MOTHERF***ING Haggar" or "The Mayor of the Universe" or "The Man Who Piledrives Sharks", etc. But like I said, having both Haggar and Arthur would be awesome. |

Haggar is definitely better known than Arthur.
But Arthur rules. His FS could be his Lvl 3 from Marvel vs Capcom 3.
The explody one. It'd fit Smash more.

Coming from a guy who didn't know Luigi was Mario's brother, its hard to believe that.
I still believe Arthur's more well known.
Ghosts n' goblins has its name known as one of the toughest video games, and probably the toughest platformer.
Many have deemed it impossible without cheats.

I definitely think that Arthur would be great in Crusade. He would out-projectile snake and Bomberman.

I don't see how that's an insult.
Idea for up special: He could grab a bat-demon thing, which flies in an arc downwards and in your direction, doing damage, then goes back upwards, out of the stage, and Arthur drops down at the right moment.
