After a long, trenching walk, Red arrives at his destination. He takes out his keys and unlocks the sealed door to paradise. Cool, crispy air filled the entire room as he enters the doorsteps of his home. He throws his keys on a nearby table. He reaches toward his comfy chair and grabs the T.V. remote. He presses the 'power' button, and instantly the television goes to life. He tunes to channel three. If only he knew that such tragic news is about to be delivered to him, he wouldn't even bother turning on the television. But it was too late.
"Breaking news story", the news reporter said. "Today, a man was found dead in a warehouse. The body has been collected and investigated by the CIA. The body was covered by blood and infectious scratches. The CIA confirmed that this body was the body of El Maiz, an all-time hero of our local community. Now, that he is gone, we can expect to see more chaos and conflicts erupt in our beloved city. Who else can save u-"
Before the news reporter can finished her sentence, Red turns off the television. Feeling shocked and horrified by his teacher's death, he sat down in silence, but silence is broken when his phone rings. He picks up the phone and recognizes a familiar voice. "Hey Sumika", he said. "You heard the news too." "I know it's a tragedy, but we have to remember that this is what we've been trained for", Sumika said. A sigh can be heard on the phone.
"I wonder how Zight is dealing with this. I mean after his dad died two years ago, El Maiz was the last one left to take care of him." Red sighs and said, "Yeah i know what you mean, Sumika. Zight is probably okay at the time being." Taking a moment of silence, both of them bid their farewells on the phone and hang up.
"With El Maiz dead", Red thought loudly. "I wonder what's going to happen now." Tired and angry at the same time, Red gets up from his throne and walks to his bedroom. He closes the curtains on the sun-lit window and hovers over to his soft bed. He shuts his eyelids and prepares to enter into the dream world...
Chapter 1: Adam legacy
I remember my last encounter with Adam. Coincidentally, I met him when El Maiz introduced him to me. It was early in the morning, and El Maize asked me if i wished to tag along. Of course, I'd join. El Maiz told me all about Adam. El Maiz shared his childhood memories and past companionship with Adam. The both of them used to be close friends, yet there were times when they were competitive rivals.
