so after months of debates over who should or who should not be in, we get a poll with half the choices being mediocre characters? With some of them barely anyone knows?

Do you expect everyone to know everyone?
Really the only people that have been suggested that I know are Strong Bad and Ratchet.

Lets see..... The only character that has actually a suggestion thread is Arthur. I have wanted Zant and Nightmare, but I never really made it clear. Shantae has been wanted by StayPuft. Jack by DMX(I think. The only thing I know is that MadWorld is close to OddWorld. With Munch and Oddysey.). Strong Bad by El. Some people wanted Chun. And I think more people would perfer Goroh than Shadow. I'll make a poll at that.

I find this poll to be a good mix of what people have requested and what people have thought about. 2 of these characters were once going to be in Crusade, but were replaced.

Zant and Nightmare
Called it. Though I don't really recall anybody (cept el maiz) requesting Strong Bad. I certainly didn't expect you guys to think about putting him in.

Sure, Agumon doesn't get on the poll despite others thinking that he's a good choice. And yet STRONG BAD, who for the most part, I've only seen ONE person suggest him prior to this poll AND who's a 4th Party character, is on the poll instead.
This I have a problem with.

It couldn't be because the devs want him in. Not possibly.

And if he does make it in, I'm sorry to say, I will do whatever it takes to remove him from the exe that I download. (I will not redistribute it, I just don't want Strong Bad in this) There are far better choices than Strong Bad.

There are far better choices than almost anyone who isn't already in the game, especially Agumon.

Irony at it's best. At first you agreed with my Agumon idea, and now because I say that Strong Bad isn't a good choice, all of a sudden, you say Agumon isn't either?
You must REALLY love Strong Bad. But he doesn't need to be in. He's 4th Party, has had only one video game (which was a WiiWare title), and is from an Internet cartoon. Not only that, he isn't even the main character; Homestar is. Strong Bad is the Luigi of the series.

I never said that Agumon shouldn't be in. I said that I thought that Strong Bad was a better choice, and that there were far better choices than almost anyone we could pick. INCLUDING BOTH CHARACTERS.

The way you wrote it made it seem like you said "There are far better choices than anyone who isn't in the roster already. Especially better than Agumon.".

Saying "suck" sucks. I'm going to rank the characters...I've already done Arthur, Chun-li, and Black Shadow... Strong Bad Representation: 2: Strong is 4th party, of which we don't really need, and there are far better choices than him...but they've made a bit up of video game references. Popularity: 3: One of the most popular cartoons of the internet, and had one wiiware game. Moveset Potential: 5: He has a bunch of stuff to use from through all the episodes, the extra characters, so many possibilites. Uniqueness: 3: He's a human with no shirt...and a mask. But through all the things he's used in the series, he'd be pretty unique.. Overall: 13 Not gonna do Jack or Shantae, never played their games. Nightmare: Popularity: 4: Not sure how popular the Soul Calibur games are, but he's been in every single one, is definitely a noticeable character, and wields Excalibur.....IS HE GOING TO CALIFORNIA. Plus, almost all the Soul Calibur games have an extra character not form the series(among those being the very popular Yoda/Darth Vader/Starkiller and Link). Moveset Potential: 5: Everything is strictly in all the Soul Calibur games. Many different sword slashes, magic, and other things. Uniqueness: 5: A night in shining armor, but wields a sword with a mighty eye, possesed by...something...with muscles and veins coming out, and an arm...well, it'd be better to show than to explain. He also is a villain AND a heavyweight. Representation: 4: It'd be nice to have another fighting game character Of which I actually like, and with all those characters mentioned above, as well as nintendo's own Link, he'd be great to have in. Overall: 18 Zant: Representation: 3: He represents Twilight Princess, one of the most well-known Zelda games(I think), and another villain. Which we need more of. Popularity: 2.5: I don't think he's too well known, and not much of a fanbase. Moveset Potentail: 5: During the fight with Link, he showed a lot of possible moves for the game, and could do many of the things that could be done in the wacky twilight realm, could possibly do some Midna-like things, and get enemies from his series to help attack. He also copies other bosses, as well. Uniqueness: 5: Its hard to explain his appearance. Maskless: He can control Twilight, and of course all the things mentioned above... A video is good to explain what he can do. And for nightmare:

How does being one of the most popular internet characters equal a three?

There are a couple of issues I have with some or most of these choices. This is my opinion.
Black Shadow is not a bad representative at all, but I think Samurai Goroh is more popular, a better rep for the FZero series due to his relations with C.Falcon, and will have a more unique fighting style than Black Shadow with the mix of katana, strength, & acrobatic style.
Chun-Li is a popular choice also, which I can't really argue, but we already have Megaman & Ryu to represent Capcom. Do we really need more Capcom reps? I think we should focus more on the Nintendo reps instead of 3rd parties.
Strong Bad is not a good video game representative at all. He is a cartoon internet character if im correct. And dont we already have a 4th party character as it is? Why more? Not really liking the choices of adding characters that are in parties that dont relate much to the video game world.
Sir Arthur I like, but again, the same reason as Chun-Li, we already have enough Capcom reps. If Frank West is planned for this game, I strongly suggest Arthur if developers are looking for a 3rd Capcom rep.
Jack Cayman is a Sega rep, we already have 4 reps for Sega. And he doesnt seem fitting enough for Smash if you ask me. Plus he is not really that popular of a character or one everyone knows about. I think there are far better choices.
Shantae, again another Capcom rep, which we seem to have enough of as it is.
Nightmare I cant complain much about since Link has appeared in a Soul Calibur game. So to reinvent Link VS Nightmare would be interesting. But to me, a character carrying a huge sword like he does and other issues im having a hard time pointing out for this character. He dont seem fitting if you ask me.
Zant? really? He was just a secondary boss in a one time game. Midna is the best choice of a character if your looking for someone from the Twilight game. I understand the point of looking for a new villain, but if you plan to look for someone from Twilight, why Zant over Midna? Zant is not even popular while Midna is obviously far more popular. Hell, Midna won the best new video game character award (dont remember from where or what year).
I just realize that besides Zant, all the other choices are either 3rd or 4th party characters. I honestly think that we should shift our focus on the 1st and 2nd party Nintendo characters. We still have plenty of those around left.

Because Capcom isn't a popular developer at all. We should have lots of Sega reps and only two from Capcom.

I still dont understand why we have so many Sega reps to begin with.

The thing is, just how many obscure Nintendo reps are we going to try to put in this game?

I see your point, but then at the same time Im seeing suggestions from obscure 3rd & 4th party characters. I think there are still more we can look into from Nintendo and not rely too much on outside parties.
