Long ago, I have suggested the inclusion of Agumon/Greymon for Crusade, and have had many people support this, but the developers didn't seem to notice.
Before I say anything else, Digimon is NOT 4th Party, believe it or not. Digimon started off as a variant of Tamagatchi, one that would be more appealing to the male audience. Because of this, Digimon started as a game, so it is 3rd Party.
Agumon was chosen as the representative because he is one of the most popular and well known of the Digimon, had a starring role in the 1st season of the anime, a supporting role in the 2nd season, and a different Agumon starred in the 5th.
His Digivolution, Greymon, was chosen because he is considered the mascot of the Digimon franchise.
Agumon:
Greymon:
What I have in mind, is that Agumon can Digivolve to Greymon like Zelda can transform into Shiek. HOWEVER, Greymon being large and powerful, needs a drawback, otherwise Agumon will be left out. That's why Greymon has the same Stamina feature as Pokemon Trainer, however, it is more extreme. When he gets tired, his moves are drastically weaker, even to where they are less powerful than Agumon's attacks. When he De-Digivolves to Agumon, the Stamina feature is gone. However, Agumon must not Digivolve again until at least 1 minute, as 1 minute is where Greymon's Stamina is completely reset.
I will not get into normal attacks yet, as I will save that for a YouTube video, but here are the Special moves.
Agumon:
Neutral B: Pepper Breath: Shoots a fireball from his mouth that travels for a bit, unaffected by gravity.
Side B: Claw Attack: Does a little leap forward, then scissor claws. This move is better shown through video.
Up B: Claw Uppercut: Like the Super Jump Punch, Shoryuken, or "Crow Bite" (which should be called Sky Uppercut, mind you.), Agumon leaps into the air with a spinning uppercut with his claws.
Down B: Digivolve: Digivolves into Greymon.
Greymon:
Neutral B: Nova Blast: Shoots a giant fireball from his mouth that travels for a bit, unaffected by gravity. HOWEVER, only one can be on the screen at a time.
Side B: Great Horns Bash: Dashes and smashes his head forward, which not only does a hard hit with the head, the horns do slashing damage.
Up B: Great Horns Attack: Leaps into the air, and bucks his horns like a bull.
Down B: De-Digvolve: De-Digivolves into Agumon.
Final Smash: Ultra Tornado: Both Agumon and Greymon Warp Digivolve to WarGreymon, then WarGreymon surrounds himself with a flaming tornado, and sends two others traveling away at both sides for a limited distance. This is like Mewtwo's Final Smash to where you have to be relatively close to your opponent for it to work. After it is finished, WarGreymon De-Digivolves to Agumon, and Greymon's Stamina is depleted.
WarGreymon:
There is more to this once I get a video up. But I feel that we should give Agumon/Greymon a chance, because Digimon is to Pokemon as Sonic is to Mario.
NOTE: All of the Specials are taken directly from Digimon Rumble Arena 2, a game that plays like Smash. Except for Nova Blast, as I used the anime version.
