I feel Young Link's Up special on the ground is one of the most underrated moves in the game. It truly has much more potential though. If you're on a team battle, you can blow your partner away; this could be quite strategic, for things like blowing goku to do his final smash from further away, make a person who's about to get hit by a powerful attack escape, and other stuff. If someone is in the middle of a taunt or long move (ie: Link's up special on the ground) that probably shouldn't hurt you that far away and they can't stop doing, you can use your up special to blow them away. If you knock an enemy off the stage, while they're trying to get back up, you can use the up special to make sure they lose all their jumps and fall. There is no particular sweet spot, but the amount can also go a few distance ahead. You can blow items away. Use this to your advantage. It takes precise timing, but if you use it against a item thrown against you (but not a projectile), you'll blow it away from you. It may be hard to get into the right position, but you can blow an enemy into a motion sensor bomb, Snake's down smash, or a bumper to make sure they don't shield it.
You can also blow green shells away, and it will be treated as if you've thrown it. But watch out; if you're too close, it might hit you!

It's basically like Mario's FLUDD. Its main use is gimping characters in their helpless state.
