Team matches can be fun and all, but let's think about some serious teams. Post some partnerships that allow the characters to compliment each others playstyles.
A few of mine:
Krystal and Jigglypuff: D-Specials for the win. Krystal stuns the opponent, Jigglypuff Rests them, simple as that. You can also reverse it by having Jigglypuff put an opponent to sleep and have Krystal F-Smash them.
Krystal and Krystal. One person stuns, other person kills. If you're next to the opponent when they're stunned (and don't have to put away the demon sniper), BAM, fully charged F-Smash right there.

Well to be fair, if you grab someone, that ultimately sets up Jiggs for a Rest. And if there were pummeling... it'd last a big longer.

It wouldn't even need new sprites; the enemy is kept in grab animation while the grabber just jabs. I don't think that there are too many that would look wierd.

Samus: Ryu is an interesting one. Ryu can effectively hold off the enemy's from Samus while Samus spams projectiles, which will help Ryu survive the 2 on 1
Wario: Mach Rider - bikes and....more bikes
Knuckles: Ryu - for a real in-your-face kind of team

Maybe Meta and Sonic? They can both put up a lot of hitboxes, though I'm not sure about approach...

Sonic can approach pretty easily, and of course, Meta Knight has decent ways of getting inside via just plain jumping and using his glide. Not to mention, they're both fast.
Goku and Pikachu seem like a good team. They're both fast and have good projectiles. They can play a mean runaway game.

Nah, but I did some messing around with CPUs, and Goku and Pikachu as a team went undefeated for a few matches. They ran into Fox and Toad and finally gave it up though. |
