Melee - You only get one use at a time and can only move in 8 directions or dodge in the same place you used it. After use, it put you into special fall. A physics exploit with this dodge is the infamous AT Wavedashing. Commonly used to separate the "Skilled" melee players from the "newbs".
Brawl - You have free movement in the air while you dodge, and can use it multiple times in a row. No SpecialFall. No Physics Exploits. Usually the proclaimed worse of the two air dodges.
Please post which you prefer and why. Would you like to see Crusade use Melee's or keep Brawls? Maybe an Option to use either or? Post your comments/concerns/ideas here.
Keep arguments friendly.

I still support the idea of a "Cruselee" having Melee-like physics. I wouldn't mind wavedashing, but just imagine how hard it would be to do on a keyboard. Also, that makes it much harder to dodge final smashes like Volt Tackle and Super Sonic.
So: Separate versions of the game: Yes. Replacing the current style: Not really.

I say a mix of both. Using the dodge without imputing a direction should work like Brawl's to where you can use it multiple times, but if you press a direction while dodging, it works like Melee's where you move in that direction, and go into Helpless Mode.

Hm... But then, it would be hard to move around while using the Brawl air dodge. Honestly, I have no problem replacing the current air dodge with the Melee one if the fans will be happy. Maybe there could be an option in the game to change it?

The only problem with that is when a Brawl player meets a Melee player and they want to duke it out in Crusade. Unless it would be like a P1/P2 kind of thing. I point back to Cruselee. I think having a second version would be pleasing to a larger audience, especially if you want to pull in Melee players and keep Brawl players.

What I'm saying is that if you're already holding a direction when you're air dodging, you'll do a Melee air dodge. This means that you'll have to release all directions and lose momentum in order to use Brawl air dodges. about Cruselee: I don't think releasing a separate game is necessary.

Just an option for it would be fine by me. Or a way to prevent wave dashing.

They're have been complains regarding the air dodges and thus they are getting fixed in 1.0.
This discussion will not lead anywhere at the moment.

It doesn't matter to me, because I disabled shielding and dodging for me. I just didn't map it to a button.

But then, how would a brawler and a meleer compete with each other?

They dont. Or they come to terms on a dodge.

They dont. Or they come to terms on a dodge. If this is an issue in online play, I'd say only players with matching air dodge settings would be allowed to fight.
