[glow=yellow,2,300]I AM NOT SUGGESTING HIM FOR THE REGULAR ROSTER; CHANGE VOTES FOR HIM AS DLC[/glow]
Ratchet:
1:
A: His classic Multi-Strike with the Omniwrench.
>A: A fast, long reaching swing with the wrench.
vA: The comet strike, which has a bit of recovery, but tons of range.
^A: Swings his wrench above him powerfully.
Fsmash: Wallops them with the Walloper.
Dsmash: Whaps foes around him with the Shock Ravager.
Usmash: Shoots upward with the trusty Pyrociter, hitting lots of times and delivering low knockback, but lots of range. ratchet.wikia.com/wiki/Pyrocitor
Dash Attack: A flurry of attacks with the Razor Claws.
Nair: Swings the wrench around himself.
Dair: His awesome Hyper Strike of win.
Fair: Somersaults with his Wrench, a powerful spike.
Bair: Whips the Plasma Whip behind him with great range.
Uair: Slices foes above him with the razor claws. ratchet.wikia.com/wiki/Lancer
B: Fires the Circuit Jammer, which is weak, slow moving blasts that home in on foes and he can fire quickly.
B then forward (Like Ryu): Chucks a fusion grenade at the enemy, exploding on contact.
SideB: Shoots the Defragmenter, a wide electric shotgun-like blast.
Smash side B: Brings out the Deadeye mine, which he can aim up to ninety degrees before firing an EXTREMELY fast projectile, that latches on to foes like a very powerful sticky bomb with a shortened duration.
Dash B (ie: Forward, forward B): Takes out the Laser Tracer and fires a powerful laser along the ground, easy to jump over, but causing eight hits and good knockback.
UpB: Grapple: A target appears above him, and Clank pulls him up.
DownB: Clank: Changes to Secret Agent Clank
FS: Fires off the R.Y.N.O. 5 in front of him for a few seconds. Lots of bullets in a spread, holding them in place and racking up damage for the missiles to hit. The 1812 overture plays during this.
Taunt: Spins around and turns into a Decoy, then spins again and turns back.
Grab: Reaches out with the Swingshot.
Pummel: Punches them with the Razor Claws.
Fthrow: Pulls out the Shock Rocket, knocking them upwards diagonally, and then shoots them.
Bthrow: Kicks them behind him and hits them with a barrage from the Dual Vipers.
Uthrow: Flings them up and fires a large laser from the Shock Cannon at them.
Dthrow: Traps them in a Mag-Net, dealing a good amount of damage.
Clank:
Jab: His classic three punches
Ftilt: Punches forward with good range, his arm stretching out a bit.
Dtilt:A fast spin kick, like Ness.
Utilt: Swings the Blowtorch Briefcase above him, which throws a fireball upward a good distance.
Fsmash: A powerful punch, the Cufflink Bomb causing an explosion
Dsmash:
Swings the Blowtorch Briefcase under him, with fire going out to the sides.
Upsmash: Shoots a bolt upward with the ThunderStorm Umbrella
Nair: Swings his hands around in a circle.
Fair: Swings the Thunderstorm Umbrella in front of him, shocking a foe. Literally.
Bair: Pretty much a backward Fair, but with more range.
Uair: Shoots a bolt upward with the Clank Zapper.
Dair: Punches downward with the Holo-Knuckles, causing a powerful spike.
B: The Geo-Laser: An aimable laser similar to Samus's FS, but toned down a lot and with a very thin laser.
>B: The Tie-a-rang: Throws his bowtie, which cause lots of hits and travels in an upward arc before returning.
^B: Heli packs upward a really good distance, hitting a lot, and glides back down.
VB: Switch to Ratchet
FS: Change to Giant Clank: A is punch, B is homing Rockets. Very short duration.
Taunt: His laugh that makes you want to strangle him
2: Representation: One of the most popular games on the Play Station, but never been on a Nintendo system. 4
Moveset potential: 5. He has a wrench, not to mention the good five dozen weapons he has. He also has Clank.
Uniqueness: He's a lemur thing that shoots people.4
Popularity: 4. He's not Nintendo, but a very Iconic character for Playstation, and is quite popular, considering that he's had ten games, with more coming.
Ratchet's inclusion in Crusade is really debatable. Some people wouldn't like a character from another console in, but Ratchet could bring SO MUCH to the game. He'd have a similar style to Snake or Samus, except more mobile and lighter. He'd give us someone who plays a bit like Krystal, but only as similar as Falcon and Mach Rider.
Besides. If you REALLY played PS2, you know Ratchet.
Please allow me to clarify any questions.
To be frank, I believe that it would be great to have a rep that isn't from Nintendo consoles. Smash is all about a crossover between different franchises, so because we are not creating a Nintendo game, per se, I don't see much of a reason to NOT expand past Nintendo consoles.
One thing I get a lot when I suggest him is: "Why not Master Chief" or "Master Chief would be better". I don't really get that. Halo may be more popular, but the games are more inappropriate than the Ratchet and Clank ones. Not only that, but Ratchet is more iconic and has WAY more uniqueness and moveset potential.
As far as I'm aware, Master Chief also has firearms, but most of them are just shooting things. Yes, there are some claw things or something, but Ratchet & Clank has had WAY more unique weapons. I have never seen Master Chief punch a hole in the wall with a glove, suck up small frog things and shoot them at each other, or turn foes into common farm animals.
I would really like some feedback, so that I can improve this.
My reasoning for having Ratchet and Clank separate is because not only does it allow more variety and use of weapons than it would otherwise, they also have to work together throughout the games, as they cover each others weak points.
They would also seem to play similarly at face value, but would have different strategies. Ratchet has more firepower and can take more punishment, but is a slightly bigger target. He also is good at controlling horizontal space with the Plasma whip, the Comet Strike, and his longer ranged weapons.
Clank is a smaller target, slightly faster, with a better recovery, but is easier to K.O. than Ratchet. He specifies in controling the area avove him, with his Utilt, Usmash, Uair, and his Bowtie.
