Hey all! I have started work on a sort of trailer/ intro video hybrid thing for my game. It's going better than I expected... Just thought I would share it and all that. also, it only goes halfway through how far it is supposed to. If you're interested in hearing the better half of the song it's in this link. www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/418439EDIT: also, here is the download link for the demo... www.mediafire.com/?tqzm4yvmmmjt6fz

That...looks fantastic. I am in awe.
The game itself sort of reminds me of Final Fantasy, but as a platformer. The platforming itself looks albeit hard to control, but I think that's what'd make it different.

That was breath-taking. I've always wanted to see a game with that kind of gameplay...Ninja Gaiden's there, but this is more like it. If you need any help, I might be able to!

Funnily enough the game is actually no where near complete enough to make a gameplay video! Most of what you see is just animations I stuck together into it, although some of it is actually me controlling things (the frog person at the beginning legitimately got murdered).
I only have the engine done for Phantom but his movement is nearly glitch free. As you hopefully know by now I'm a (self proclaimed) artist so I try to go places with the art.
DMX, I actually have never played the original ninja giaden! I am assuming it's similar to Legend of Kage 2 for DS though which I have played. My two most prominent sources of inspiration are from that and Megaman Zero so you bet it's going to be fast and acrobatic gameplay with a high difficulty to boot.
Thanks everyone, I'll post an update once I finish the vid. I'm hopefully going to include some actual platforming into the next one and just to kill time probably a scene with the camera showing off the diverse characters.

I don't understand why everyone is commenting n the gameplay. We haven't seen any, except about three seconds of running and a jump.

Ohhhh crap. It looks fast. I LOVE fast games. If you can manage to make gameplay actually as fast as it looks, You win a super cookie my good man.

I am FINALLY finished with the demo of this thing. It's short but it should be fairly impressive. Try it out! I've put a ton of time and effort into it. The demo is fairly short consisting of a tiny level and a boss to fight. the engine itself has been heavily worked on and smoothed out to the point where I'm happy with it. There are very few glitches, but the AI is a little stupid. The graphics are what I really poured my heart into though, so please enjoy them. without further ado, the download link... www.mediafire.com/?tqzm4yvmmmjt6fzTell me what you think! I should hopefully finish chapter 1 in a month or two. Until then I'm running around with this demo.

This game is awesome, Henry PHHP. The background movement was awesome, like that of a retail game. The voice acting was amusing. Saving was extremely fast. Although fighting some regular enemies are a bit of a chore, it comes out to an awesome game. Can't wait until it's release!

THING'S I NOTICED
if you run out of lives/hearts and you do your sword combo you do not die until finishing the sword combo *B/G*
game play is smooth and good but sword attack is too slow*S* * maybe there should be a option to choose a more lighter sword*
there should be a running attack *S*
statue that saves should offer upgrades *S*
co-op mode would be nice*S*
more menu option such as music player [to listen to game music], option [to customize controls and audio],vs mode, survival [flat stage with strong monster's coming in from the sides],objects[item collet from story mode read more info here] *S*
*S* = suggetion *B/G* = bug / glitch

Generic- thanks for the nice words! I assume when you say the enemies are difficult it would be due to firstly their jumpy movements and the fact that you have some fairly unruly attacks.
777- Huge fan of criticism, so basically I'm pretty happy with you. I'll go down the list with my comments then.
"if you run out of lives/hearts and you do your sword combo you do not die until finishing the sword combo *B/G*" -This my bro noticed right after I released the demo. It's a small fix and it will take about 5 minutes to repair. I actually forgot about it though so thanks for reminding me!
"game play is smooth and good but sword attack is too slow*S* * maybe there should be a option to choose a more lighter sword* " -You probably noticed this but the starting sword is fairly large. This means yes it is fairly slow. That is why you get a large selection of weapons of varying sizes throughout the game. I'm almost finished with two smaller sized ones that shouldn't take too long to add and should be faster at attacking. Thanks for the concern.
"there should be a running attack *S* " -Now this I've been arguing with myself on. It seems like it's a fairly wanted though so I may have to consider how to make it work and what it will be like. If I do that though I'm going to want a ducking attack as well I think. We'll see.
"statue that saves should offer upgrades *S*" -There will be abilities that you learn and acrobatic feats as well. Also the two other characters get a plethora of spells instead of weapons to obtain. I could make a shop system but I do have other options for gaining them as well. I'll keep the suggestion open.
"co-op mode would be nice*S*" -You have read my mind! I actually thought about a co-op about a month ago and decided I would have to try something for this. As well as a co-op I was considering a vs. mode as well (which you also mention of course).
"more menu option such as music player [to listen to game music], option [to customize controls and audio],vs mode, survival [flat stage with strong monster's coming in from the sides],objects[item collet from story mode read more info here] *S* " -I do want a sound room but if I put all of my music into the game right now the game would take forever to load (currently I have about 15 works made) and I'm not that great at programming so external music hasn't happened yet but it's planned. More modes would be pretty fun in the future though.
So basically what I said in all that is that you practically read my mind. Thanks again!

I found a rather quirky glitch when fighting the boss. I'm uploading a playtrhough with it right now. Basically the boss would be knocked into the side and teleport and stay in the same place, then teleport to a new place and be fine. EDIT: 2:15

the little green monster's if you get attacked go to the wall stay for a bit then jump up onto platform green moster will try to follow but will get stuck half way up wall since it goes full screen i cannot save image to show *G/B*
skeleton lazer dude his awesome eye laser can go though walls *G/B*
running attack i have three idea's
1.spin while still running
2.is normal slash but he stop's running
3.he gets skeleton dude laser eye trick but can only use twice in a row then he has to wait 45 sec for cool down *S*
duck move would most likely be low kick which if like metal slug he slides a bit *S*
more story would be nice like a cut scene before fighting boss *S*
idea for co-op on stick war one person controls the stick people [keyboard] while other control's unit's [mouse] so what about one person controls character [keyboard] while other controls hmm...a baby dragon left click = a fireball after 2 or 3 fireball's cooldown is 40 sec. *S*

Generic- First off I'm going to say you make that skely look easy compared to how I fight it!! Second off I really enjoyed you falling into the hole. Third off you discovered my secret glitch I can't fix... now you must be silenced! Ok, nevermind I think I may have figured out how to fix it. Not only does he do that but sometimes he'll forget to switch directions when he warps for some reason. I'll fix that soon.
777- On the topic of the gremlins I swear I fixed that but I got it to work too just now so apparently not. as for the running attack I'm thinking some sort of dash attack should work. As for the co-op idea, what I'm probably going to do with that is you'll get a character selection option because through the game you have to use 3 different characters. I'm going to put a video up of Scarecrow once I get more of his magic done and his magic meter working.
