*coughRivalTrainerCough* *CoughDMXandPhantomcough* Yeah baby, keep the flaming coming One, you don't know what flaming is. That was merely giving an example to where El Maiz was wrong while being sarcastic about it. (And in the end, El Maiz made a good point that no one objected to mode ideas, while majority objected to Rival Trainer) Two, how can you NOT have a problem with Rival Trainer? Same with you, ensane. Is it that you just don't care? If so, that's fine. Now, on-topic: Smash Ball Collection. Smash Balls return! But they serve as targets?! That's right! Smash a Smash Ball like in Brawl to get a point. the character that Smashed the most Smash Balls at the end wins!

@golden's idea of collecting Smash Balls. That sounds pretty good, but wouldnt that just be a bit of a rip off of the Coin Melee/Brawl on VS mode?
I had an idea also involving the Smash Ball, which was this. The last person holding the Smash Ball by the end of the time limit wins. What you think?

Another, brilliant idea.
A character of your choice ass well as 2 others go into an expedition in some kind of tropic island. Unlucky as they are, the fall into a huge, rocky crack on the ground. They are trapped.
In the beginning, everything seems peacefull...

*back from dead* Answered GoldenYuuitusin through an edit. @golden's idea of collecting Smash Balls. The last person holding the Smash Ball by the end of the time limit wins. What you think? Oh yeah, tag. But maybe something more classic, like first person out gets tagged. Now he/she has to frag someone else to tag him. Everybody has, apart from damage gauge, a timer which works only when a person is tagged. When the timer reaches 0, tagged person no longer plays. After that, first person out gets tagged. Repeat till 1 player remains.

That was in that thread. You claim that saying *coughRivalTrainerCough* *CoughDMXandPhantomcough* in response to El Maiz is also flaming. Which it's not, so you essentially brought this off topic. Anyways, to get back ON topic: How about Bonus Mode from SSBM? Where who gets the most bonuses at the end wins?

That sounds fun. However, I don't think all the bonuses have been programmed yet.
Remember that one bonus stage from Melee's classic mode? The trophy one? We could have something like "Capture the Trophy", and essentially you have to catch falling trophies that aren't fully solid (only affected by hitboxes and a special type of platform) and knock them into a container on one side of the stage. There would be a container for both players ( maximum of two players, sadly), and then whoever has the most at the end of a set time wins. You can also loot/empty your opponent's collection by running into the container and hitting the trophies out.

Something tells me that'd be a little hard to program. The tophies themselves, I mean.

They shouldn't be hard to program. The other things is sprites for those trophies.

However were you thinking of this idea with allowing players to also battle between them while collecting the trophies or without?

That would be the idea. Otherwise it wouldn't be much of a fighting-game mode. And how else would you fight your opponent off and defend the trophies you've already collected?

I was expecting it would be with fighting but just wanted to confirm since you didn't mention that on the description. Kind of thought that you maybe wanted an easy minigame without fighting. But yeah just leave it with fighting.

I do remember another mode that Nights Owl suggested on the old forum. The Arena. It's where we select a character and fight a number of enemies depending on the series as well as battling the series boss. It would be totally fun.

that sounds like adventure mode if you ask me. but do you think that every series in this game has common enemies to fight against?

Um... Mario = Goomba? Link = Ocotorok? Pikachu = Bidoof? Little Mac = Glass Joe?

Well, something like that yes. But it's not really like Adventure Mode, it's just the Arena Mode. You know, the Arena minigame from Kirby Super Star.
