I'm still thinking of something. But so far what I'm thinking is Series VS Series
Where the Mario Characters (Good and Evil) Fight against another series. In other words, its not good guy vs bad guy. Its Series VS Freeforall. And at the end they team up against some big thing. Or something.

The Mario series is huge compared to other series.
I think series Team-Ups would be required.
Perhaps Mario and Sonic want to prove once and for all who is greater, and they recruit teams to have the mother of all contests.

Seems too focused on Mario and Sonic. Needs to be something EVERYONE can have a main role in. And while the mario team is big, you cant say any of the others arent. We dont know the full rosters. ;3

Well, this is just my personal opinion, but I was thinking a prequel or sequel to the subspace emissary. I have a whole story in the works that is based around the minister's story, but i can fix it up a bit to fit everyone.

We could center it around an original character that isn't playable. Like they did in Brawl.
I still think it should be a "quel" to subspace emissary. That way, we have some story to work off of or into, along with some other stuff. Like...
Tabuu comes back, but he created his own minions and is ripping holes in the trophy world through his own power, and to beat him, the minister gathers up all the original fighters from Brawl. They confront Tabuu, but they're beaten horribly, so they all go on quests to find more characters to help save the world. That would totally work.
