I decided I'd wrap this up in one thread.
I found good GregarLink10 sheets of Mario and Luigi that are basically JUS style. I've made a few animations and I will try to get a few up soon (you can find the sheet one deviantart). They look really nice and are much bigger than the ones now (the gorsal ones)
So yeah, Gorsal Vs GregarLink10, I guess...
And for that newcomer, it's someone I've requested before and I really want him in.
Yeah, it's Tamagon- the main character of Nintendo's Japan-Only classic, Devil World.
He might be a little slow, but he has wings, serving as his main weapon to attack with. He can also breathe fireballs, fly, and many other things. Spriting is no problem either- I've made a few animations 100% from scratch that look great.

New Mario and Luigi sprites and a character from Devil World? Cool.
EDIT: On second thought, I say no to Tamagon but the new Mario and Luigi sprites? I can go with that.

After looking at the Mario sprites, I must say that ours look inferior compared to his.
However, it isn't a complete sheet, and would take up time needed for other characters.
I have no opinion on this.
Now, as for Tamagon, I personally think there are better characters than him (Ray Mk, Balloon Fighter, etc.), and he wouldn't be too well known, and he'd look kind of odd in game.
So I think I'd say no to him.

I like Tamagon and all, but I think there are more well-know and better choices with more fighting potentials. The only few things I know he can do are breathing fire, flying, and throwing religious crosses. Since he has no arms, its hard to come up with anything more.
Other retro characters that in my opinion sounds good are
Balloon Fighter
Duck Hunt Dog
Lip
Bubbles
Excitebiker
Muddy Mole
And one of my personal favorites...Dr Wright!!
As for the mario bros sprites, I have to see them first before I can give my thoughts

As much as Tamagon is a good retro choice, Takamaru is a better one.

Waaait. Mario Bros. like Ice Climbers? I say no to Tamagon. lol he didn't mean that. He meant new sprites for BOTH Mario and Luigi. They will still be separate characters if their sprites were to change or not. Thanks to clearing the things up!  Yes,I've say YES. The Jiggs Sprite looks good too. Maybe we could have them? |

I think that our current Jigglypuff is gross and should go jump in a lake.

Representation would be great, but uniqueness and viability would be low.

In all seriousness. You CAN create a moveset for anyone. I could create a moveset for a CANDY CANE. Which is why moveset potential is pointless.
All you can do in excitebiker would be to move your bike. flips, wheelies, blah.
And at the same time, he couldn't do anything off his bike. Mach Rider at least has his machine gun. Excitebiker NEEDS his bike. It doesn't fit. At all.
