What preceded it's appearance? I think it appears at the event of lacking a sprite to show.
(Such as, Entrance)

Yup. This was posted before.
Apparently, there will be character intros there, like with 64 and Brawl.
If you look at Goku's folder, he has one.

I've seen this many times and it pretty much is the game loading sprites. If we went through with stage intros, this wouldn't have been a problem.
