Who should it be?
We figured since SSF2 has Lloyd, we could go without copying them, and choose another character thats been on a Nintendo Console.
So that leaves us with-- Luke Fon Fabre, and Cless/Cress Albein/Alvein.
First off. Movesets.
Cress/Cless' first.
Luke's next.
Luke
Pro: He has Versatile moves for most situations and a giant moveset library able to be changed into a Smashesque moveset.
He also has Elemental Variations of moves which could be used when in a possible Final Smash Mode. Using one of these moves and HOLDING the special button down after using the move could execute his Mystic Arte/Artes. (One of the big flashy ones) at the end.
Con: He's slowish. A lot of his moves are single to 3 hits at most, unless they're the elemental variations. Thus making him a slow/heavy feeling fighter. His game isnt out yet. It's a port on the 3ds that's coming soon. So in comparison to the Fire Emblem thing in Melee, Luke would be more like a Roy Character. Less Importance to the Series as a whole.
Cless:
Pro: While not having moves as flashy as Lukes, he has a lot of GREAT combo moves that can be used to quickly combo and link moves. I'd imagine him being a faster fighter with more multi-hit attacks.
Con: He's very Identical to Lloyd. Sword Rain, Beast, Tiger Blade, and Rising Phoenix. His FS is lacking of something new to SSBC. His Mystic artes in the games, are usually just fast generic combos.
Representation--
Luke: Luke has NOT yet been on a Nintendo Console. BUT, like Roy, from Fire Emblem, he will be soon. Which makes him Eligible for inclusion. His game was Well Received. Only gripes with it were the slow load times and lag during world map travels. Most Tales Fans, will know of him.
Cless: Cless is like the Marth in the Fire Emblem Series. He was the first "Tales" Main Character, just as Marth was the first Fire Emblem Character. Cless/Cress was where it all started. You cant be a Tales Fan without knowing who he is. His first few games were hindered by old game consoles, (Snes, GBA) but later, he had a good PROPER remake of the original game. Making it the Best Remake of the "Phantasia" Story. Extremely well recieved game, despite being on SNES, GBA, PSX, And PSP. They all did very well.
So now the question is... Who does everyone want if a Tales rep is to be considered?
PS. We're not really looking at Lloyd for a rep because we're trying to alienate ourselves from having the same Characters as SSF2. For more Diversity.
