We haven't really had so many votes on a poll, I think!
Anyways, if we had this, I think it'd be better to have an opposite forum, like what perfecthell said, I believe. Allows for more space.

The game isn't finished. Metagame will become obsolete again and again. This just isn't needed. Metagame will not become obsolete, it will just go through small shifts. Each demo brings a few changes to the characters but nothing drastic or game changing. Samus is still going to have a good camping game, Ryu is still going to be a melee fighter, etc. etc. Exactly what harm does it do to have a Back Room? At the very least, it will be a fun place to discuss for players that have an interest (although I'm certain it will be of much more value than that. Since the SFBR was created, balancing and testing has almost completely shifted to the SFBR, because of the importance and relevance of the discussions held). But no actual harm will be done. And back to the tier list's, just for future reference for all members here so we don't have to waste time on this again, the official definition of Tiers: Tier List - A tier list is a list that ranks each character in order of their potential to win under tournament conditions, based on analysis of the metagame. (official smash wiki) "Based on analysis of the metagame" The section about tournament conditions is in reference to tournament rule sets. When thinking character metagame, you have to think as applied to tournament rules, thus making certain techniques illegal. Understand, I am a member of the SFBR. I already participate in pre- final game release metagame debate, tier lists, rule sets, stage legality, and character match ups. Therefore, I know how tier lists are made (I help make them), or any of the other items mentioned. @repeat Boy: I don't correct you to spite you, I'm just helping. Chill with the flaming. If you really have that big a problem with the BR, then just don't get involved. You don't need to bring down everyone else that IS interested.

That's a bad way to make a tier list. No wonder they seem so inaccurate.
And I predict that it will do harm by taking away more active users, leaving behind me and Generic.

The tier lists are inaccurate? I wasn't aware. I also did not know that you know how to make a tier list better than the Smash Back Room, who have been doing it since N64.
Stop with the unfounded accusations
No users acceptance is set in stone yet, so I don't know why you mention Generic. As mentioned earlier in this thread, activity alone is not enough for admittance to the BR, so there's no point in arguing about activity levels.

You don't know why he mentions me? I thought it was obvious. I've mentioned before in this thread that I don't suport making a game competitive, that I wouldn't be in it.
But I don't think they're very accurate at all. I know someone who is INSANE at playing with Zelda, and Det here proves ROB to be INSANELY good. That's why I feel they're inaccurate It all really depends on player skill

1. In my opinion, they are. And I never said or implied that I could.
2. I mention Generic because he won't want to be in it.
3. If you want to have more than... none... people in the back room, they'd have to be active users. Besides, if they weren't active, why would they apply for the back room? It has plenty to do with activity levels.

I didn't say activity wasn't important. I said it wasn't the only factor. This has been gone over twice before within the thread.
A common misconception with tiers: Tiers show character potential on a small scale. They show who will win if characters are played by an absolutely perfect player, both players being perfectly equal in skill on all levels. But the scale is fairly minor. In the end, it all comes down to the skill of the player (if the game has good balancing of course). The tier lists are accurate, they just don't have the massive effect on play everyone seems to assume they have.

ENOUGH. Really now. This needs to stop. A couple other things: DGN: Yes, I'm the best R.O.B. player in my state, but the last tourney I went to, I got beaten by a Snake player in the third round. Not much of a surprise there. Also, one of the later rounds featured two of the best players duking it out. As Meta Knight and Snake. Guess who won? And the guy playing Meta Knight usually mains Yoshi. He's INSANELY good. I beat him... maybe once. From gimping his edge-camping with a well-placed Gyro. @el Maiz: You honestly think I'd leave this forum entirely? That the devs would suddenly stop posting here because they're in the back room? I can honestly tell you that I wouldn't do that. And I doubt Falcon would either. Let alone any other member that gets into the back room. I see back room members post all over the SmashBoards forum. It's not like they're trapped in one forum. @ph4: No user acceptance is set in stone yet? We know that the devs will be there, at the least, and I'm likely to be one of the first (if not the first) non-dev to be in. Falcon would probably do a double-take if I said I wouldn't participate (dang, there goes a great april fools day joke), and I think he knows he'd be missing something if I decided to bomb the application or just not submit one. I expect to see Golden there early on as well. Sure, the acceptance isn't set in stone, but it's almost too predictable.

Well the dev's because they make the game, make the Back Room, and have the most game knowledge, that goes without saying. But no other is set in stone, even if certain users are very likely

lo It'd probably just have Falcon, DMX, Phantom7, Werekill, Sumika, Golden, Detta, and....possibly PhantomHP and Sliss and SP, but IDK at that. And maybe smashking.

El, have you ever been on more than one forum at once? I made a profile on several forums. This one is my main one, and BitF is my secondary. Just because they're in one place doesn't mean they still can't be here.

Why would they want to come back here when they can have competitive discussion there?
It seems like this forum would become useless.

El Maiz, once again, I point you towards SWF. Plenty of broomers there are active everywhere else.
Also, it isn't like it is going to be an entirely seperate forum. I'm just making a private board for the usergroup, like the mod board we already have.

Why would they want to come back here when they can have competitive discussion there? It seems like this forum would become useless. Because we can have non-competitive discussion here? There wouldn't be adventure mode discussion or DLC suggestions or an art corner in the back room. Stuff like that is still here, and that's why I'd still be posting here, among other things. Not to mention there DEFINITELY wouldn't be a spam board.

Nope. Do you see anyone with a back roomer username yet?
I'll make the application thing later.
