Another suggestion: make visible from the back room a section for applications and a public section. On SFBR, each application is a thread, so anyone else can see the application in progress, and BR members can talk about the app and ask question right on the app. For the public one, it would contain several public threads (namely, information the BR releases, such as the tier list once completed, tournament rules, AT's, etc.) To show you what I'm talking about, here's the SFBR as seen to non-members: smashflashbackroom.englishboards.com

We could have a thread in this board for that.

Well, amybe put the changes on SSBC Announcement can work too.
IF a backroom is created some MUST be in, like, for example, Dettadeus, Lionman, me, and the devs.

Already gone over this. And everyone is required to submit an application except for the devs. When was the last time Lion was on, anyways?

I can understand not letting others post on certain boards, but why not even let them SEE it?

Yeah, maybe it would be better to have it here actually. Going through the SFBR public forum, it needs a lot of clean up, the only threads there of any use are the Tier List, Stage Legality, Tournament Rules, Advanced Techniques, and Character Match-Ups threads. Advanced Techniques, Match-Ups and Tier List could go in General Character Discussion here, Stage Legality in Stage Discussion, and Tournament Rules in SSBC General Discussion. Forum Announcements could also be a good place for them.
@geoluread: Some might try to bring the discussion into public discussion by talking about it in the public threads, or making direct quotes. For example, someone in the BR says something about Goku, a non-BR user disagrees and calls it out in the public thread, and a public debate starts

i think the backroom should be done when the games is finished. FOr example, the metagame will be totally change to 1.0, because Crusade Cancel was removed (CC was the main advanced technique of 0.6). But 1.0 will bring new thing so, there will be nos table tierlist/metagame/matchups because evrthing changes.

Except that only you and Lion used it and there wasn't much discussion anyways.

Except that only you and Lion used it and there wasn't much discussion anyways. Correction, because me , dettadeus and lion were able to perfom it, the rest of the community are newbies who think brawl is better than melee (Sorry to bring this kind of discussion, but if you see it from the competitive point of view, Melee is more competitiv and deeper than brawl (but brawl is fun, we cant negate that ))

You are right about these lsits changing for the next version. IMO, the CBR should begin preliminary discussion on 0.6, that way when 1.0 comes out, we can focus on the changes and how they affect match-ups or anything else, and therefore crank out a 1.0 tier list faster. I doubt a 0.6 Tier List would happen, but it's possible depending on how discussion goes.

Since when was it a part of the metagame? You and Lion were the only two to use it. That doesn't make something a part of the metagame. Not to mention it was simply a huge glitch that completely broke most characters, unlike Wavedashing was. Hence it wasn't an actual AT. Aside from that, the metagame won't change enormously from version to version because the engine isn't changing from version to version. And we'd be waiting for more than a year to make the back room in that case.
EDIT: WTF? I never used Crusade Cancel. Where the heck did you get that idea?

My argument still stands.

Detta, i am sure you uploaded a video of lucario doing a CC, i am really sure about that. Oh, and detta, the community of crusade is small, pretty small, Nobody cares about the competitive scene of Crusade (i thing is only me.... and.... i think i am the only one who think crusade has the potential to become a competitive game)
EDIT: A technique with need the input of 4 buttons in 4 frames is not Broken. Is a hard technique.

Crusade cancel? With Lucario? That was Lion. Or you. Crusade Canceling his U-special, right? That was Lion.
It broke characters though. Rest being canceled makes it the most broken move in the game.

But I'd not like to see it. So do as planned
