I think it would be neat if 'Child Link' had more moves from the Toon/Four Sword games. Deku Leaf and Grappling Hook are a great start, but how about other things. For example, perhaps the FSmash can be the Whip from Spirit Tracks, Up Smash the Sand Wand from the same game, and neutral special being the Fire Rod from Four Swords Adventures. Make him less of a clone and more into a unique character. Also, perhaps the Boomerang can be more controllable? In the DS games, you could literally trace out any path for it. Perhaps something like Pit's arrows except slower and easier to move around? I like the ideas! Dr. MarioX, where you at? We needz sprites! Idk about the Boomerang, but I would totally go for the Smash ideas.

If you need a down smash as well, how about Blast Mask? This is Young Link we're talking about, so it wouldn't hurt to throw in some Majora's Mask references in there.

How about down b itself being a ref to Majora's mask?
And I would like the up smash to stay...

I think he needs a new Nspecial.

Hm... how about the ability to lock on with the Boomerang, then? If you hold down the special button, you could stay in a charging sort of pose, and if anyone passes by your line of sight, a Wind Waker-styled marker (The yellow jagged circle thing) appears on the opponent, and when you release, it homes in on that opponent. Trying to find a way to make the Boomerang more unique without replacing it entirely.

I think it'd be easier to make the other path. It sounds better, and that one doesn't seem to ergonomic.

I think tracing a path for it would be cool, but sort of impractical given the game's controls. Maybe Roymaster's homing idea is better. It would be doable.

Maybe I'm thinking too much of this, but what if there was a way for the Grappling Hook to steal an item? Maybe if they're just out of range of being grabbed, it would take their item instead, if they are holding one.

I've actually suggested that on the other forum, but with the boomerang.

Bump. The boomerang outpriorises almost every projectile. I don't know if you want to keep it like this but in IMO I think the boomerang should cancel or at least go back to Child Link upon contact with a projectile or any attack. Also I think that when the boomerang goes back to Child Link it should do less damage (3% or 4%) instead of doing its normal damage as when thrown (7%) and also very very little knockback with almost not hitstun. (like in brawl)

It's the same as Krystal's staff. I'd usually advocate a change, but in this case if the priority of the boomerang is lowered, T Link's projectile game gets shattered. It's character defining (like Shoryuken and Shuttle Loop and Pound)

Alright: I'm not very good at spriting but I did some minor edits and moved stuff around to get these 4 done. I assume effects are done in game maker. Blast Mask is the down smash, Fire Rod is the neutral special (Tap for a fireball, hold down for a stream of fire), Sand Wand is the up smash (Create a rectangular pillar of sand and have it shoot straight up from Link's feet to above him, then crumble before putting the wand away), and Hammer is forward smash.

They're good, but...Some of them don't match...especially the 4th.

It's character defining (like Shoryuken and Shuttle Loop and Pound) Toon Link's projectile game was perfectly fine in Brawl. What he's saying is to change it so that it becomes like in Brawl, where it returns to you after you it someone with it, instead of going its full length.

How about down b being something that uses Ocarina of time in a way?
