These characters are a few that have been considered for SSBC lately. The results of this poll (which I don't plan to ever close) may or may not effect the roster. Some of these characters have been on the roster before. I'd like to see what people think about these characters. I'll go through who each fighter is: Fulgore- Killer InstinctFulgore is the main character of Killer Instinct (Jago is as well), which is considered to be one of the best fighting games to date and had an exlusive console port on the SNES and a sequel on the N64. He hasn't been on the roster before, but he's been in our heads for a little bit. Tamagon- Demon WorldI've mentioned Tamagon many times before. He's been well known since his strange trophy appearance in Melee and the Devil from DW did appear in Brawl as an Assist Trophy. Mitsurugi- Soul CaliburThis guy has appeared in ever Soul game so far and is considered to be one of the main characters. I think he's been bought up more than any others for awhile. Frank West- Dead RisingHe's been on the roster before because he's one of the most unique characters we've ever had. We've brought him up a few times recently. He'll also be in the MvC3 Update. Alucard- CastlevaniaHe's just as much of a main character as Simon Belmont. He'd be really fun to play as too and we've been talking about him. Strong Bad- Strong BadDear Strong Bad, I was wondering if you wanted to ever be in Smash Bros. If you do, what moves would you have? I think you would be great. -Steve Buttz Yeah, Strong Bad. I'm not kidding. He has a chance. Superstar Gang- KirbySuperstar Gang was on the roster for a long time. It was a Pokemon Trainer style character for three of the most popular Kirby enemies, Sir Kibble, Plasma Wisp, and Bonkers. Nitros- Bomberman HeroWow, he hasn't been on the roster since it was only 64 characters. Nitros was a Bomberman villain that didn't live too long. I don't think many people remember him either. Oh well, we can see what you guys think.

These characters are a few that have been considered for SSBC lately. I assume by you and Evan? I assume they won't... If any rare character, Banjo-Kazooie. There are better classic characters. Like Balloon Fighter. Nightmare>>>>>>>>>>>>Mitsurgi And Mitsurgi is more or less "Just another sword user". NO MORE CAPCOM REPS unless he'd replace morrigan "Just another sword user" no moar 4th parties Why would we want another Rival Trainer-like character...? I don't see why we need two bomberman characters....that's just as ridiculous as two street fighter characters...OH WAIT but if anybody else from hudson, it should be bonk IMO. No one on here is really good for crusade IMO....I can't believe Isaac isn't even on here...

It isn't Hudson. Bomberman is now a Konami series.

so why have two reps of a secondary series(both him AND Alucard) before two reps from the first konami series on a smash bros game?

All of these choices disappoint me severely. Especially Strong Bad, who happens to have an incorrect representation. He would represent Homestar Runner. And he's fourth party in the first place so no. Perhaps you should start considering people that fit these two requirements: The fans want them in, and they make sense under every reason you've provided that can put a character on the roster. I'll leave you to figure out the characters that fit that description.

Well, here are my thoughts on these choices.
Fulgore: I loved Killer Instinct!!! Was my first SNES game I ever owned as well as my first M Rated game. Though Fulgore was not the main character, cause also Jago, Orchid, and to a lesser extent Spinal were also one of the mains. Either way, if we had to go with a Killer Instinct rep, Fulgore is the right choice. A killer cyborg. Though I do have to disagree about being one of the best fighting games. As popular as it was during its time, it is a forgotten series in this generation and hasnt been mentioned since the N64 era. Now as for him being in Crusade, I have to admit that with all these 3rd party characters that Rare deserves some love. Problem is that there is only a limit of reps per 3rd party. Lets look at Rare. Banjo-Kazooie being the mascot, theres Conker, & Joanna Dark. If we were to have 4 Rare reps it should be Banjo, Conker, Joanna Dark, & Fulgore. But I feel that 4 is kinda pushing it and 2 is enough, being Banjo & Conker as the best choice. If they are not already on the roster.
Tamagon: Im glad that we at least have one Nintendo character in this poll since the 3rd party suggestions are becoming too much.
Tamagon is not the worse choice of a retro rep, but there are several retro characters that hold more priority and better represents the generation before us. Characters like Balloon Fighter, Duck Hunt Dog, Lip, Sukapon, & Excitebiker just to name a few.
Out of all the choices on this poll, Tamagon is the most reasonable one, but still not the next best retro choice.
Mitsurugi: Not really high on the idea of a Soul Calibur rep, but seeing how Nintendo let them use Link in Soul Calibur 2, it sounds reasonable, But still it sounds more of a random choice rather than one that is deserving. On top of that, I think there is a much better rep for Soul Calibur. Maybe Nightmare.
By the way, you didnt add his picture on this thread.
Frank West: Dont we have enough Capcom characters already as it is? On top of that, he is not the best rep for the company compared to many other well known Capcom reps. And I dont see what is very unique about him.
Alucard: Castlevania is a great game and another villain is fine, but doesn't Simon Belmont already reps this series? Glad we are looking into putting a Konami rep, but I think Metal Gear deserves a 2nd rep more than Castlevania does when discussing a Smash roster. Speaking of Konami reps, if we go with 3, my suggestion are Snake, Bomberman, & Simon Belmont. If 4 then I think a 2nd Metal Gear rep.
Strong Bad: No offense, but out of everyone in this poll and ever suggested for this game, this has to be the worse choice. He is not even a video game character and never originated from one either. He is 4th party and having Goku alone was hard enough to accept as it is.
Super Star Gang: Another trio character? Isn't Ice Climbers, which are a duo, going to be hard enough as it is to program? And dont we already have Pokemon Trainer to be the trio character? Another one is not necessary.
Now as for the choice of being a trio, I think the Kirby series is fine with Kirby, Metaknight, King Dedede, Gooey, & Prince Fluff.
Nitros: Im up for having new villains, but not forgotten or unpopular ones. I think Bomberman is fine on his own. There were no memorable characters in the series or any that have made an impact to the series itself. Plus having another Konami rep? I think the choices mentioned above are better.
OVERALL: Glad this community has a chance to see what is being suggested behind closed doors, but honestly I am somewhat disappointed with the choices being suggested.
I think Tamagon is the most reasonable out of the rest, but I already explained my reasons against it above.
The Kirby trio is not really a popular choice itself. Plus programming will be a pain.
Strong Bad would be a terrible choice, he is worse than Goku and he was a bad choice as well. Adding someone like Strong Bad will only push fans to suggest more 4th party characters.
And the rest are too random of choices. On top of that, IIRC from the last roster list you posted months ago, the 3rd parties are taking up more than 1/4 of the roster. Not sure if it has changed much since but still we are suggesting too much 3rd parties.
I think we should look at what other Nintendo characters we have before jumping to the 3rd party ship.
Here are a few that usually dont get mentioned as much here or should be considered more often.
Chibi-Robo Ray MK Nintendo Wars reps (Andy, General Herman, or Brigadier Betty) Tom Nook Starfy Louie (Pikmin) Medusa Pelutena Jill (Drill Dozer) Excitebiker Balloon Fighter Duck Hunt Dog Lip (Panel De Pon) Bubbles (Clu Clu Land) Dr Wright (Sim City) Porky Masked Man Shulk (Xenoblade) Sukapon Takamaru
I can go on forever on the big list of characters that should be seriously suggested over the ones on the poll (besides Tamagon), but this is just a sample.

Needs moar Phoenix Wright imo He'll also be in the MvC3 update, along with your Frank West. Being an attorney using comic-style speech bubbles to fight, he'll be one of the most unique characters out on the battlefield.
And Strong Bad is 4th party, and iirc you said only Goku will be 4th party.

I just logged in to say that all these choices are HORRIBLE save for a select few.
My views:
1. Folgore-Character from a pretty much dead series that's no longer associated with Nintendo, and instead, their enemy, Microsoft. The only acceptable character that fits that category is Banjo-Kazooie.
2. Tamagon-The only Nintendo character on this list, and it's STILL a poor choice. Takamaru should be considered WAY before Tamagon. At least Takamaru is no longer obscure to the point where no one gives a rats @$$ due to Samurai Warriors 3...
3. Mitsurugi-Him before Siegfreid or Nightmare? That's a laugh. Nightmare is THE character to use for Soul Calibur if anyone. And if a samurai is "desperately needed", there's still Takamaru, a NINTENDO character.
4. Frank West-Unless he replaces Morrigan, it's a no go. And even then, Mike Haggar and Phoenix Wright are better choices due to having more popularity and Nintendo games.
5. Alucard-Not before another Metal Gear character. It's bad enough that Megaman and Street Fighter get two characters, but Metal Gear definitely needs another character (Gray Fox, dammit!) before another series by the same company. This is of course, implying that Simon Belmont is already planned. IF, Alucard is to be the Castlevania rep instead of Simon, then that would be acceptable. Alucard's a decent choice; but Metal Gear needs a second rep.
6. Strong Bad-What the EFF are you smoking? He's a 4th Party that had ONE GAME. ON FRIGGING WII WARE. Easily the worst choice in this list. Hell, even KARAS is a better choice, and he was only in one game where he was a minority due to the COMPANY being represented.
7. SuperStar Gang-Should stay the way they are; NOT in the game. Like Rival Trainer's current set of Pokemon, the choices are random save for Bonkers. The lack of Knuckle Joe is the main problem.
8. Nitros-Seeing as Bomberman is now owned by Konami, same problem as Alucard; a second Metal Gear rep has more priority. Unlike Alucard, Nitros is a poor choice. And the reasons why he is are literally stated by you. "Didn't live long" and "not many people remember him".
The only decent character is Alucard. But Metal Gear needs a second rep first.

I thought you died. I don't like many of the choices either, but I still mindlessly voted for Frank and Mitsurugi.

Wow. Somewhat unexpected responses. However, I was expecting anything. There is one character, however, that could be in this game that I totally forgot to mention in this poll and I feel bad for not doing so:
Magnus from Kid Icarus: Uprising
No one's played the full game yet, but he has high chances after the release of the game. Not to mention he'll more than likely be in Smash 4.
I do want to talk about Strong Bad. I know it sounds crazy to put Strong Bad on this poll, but he and his 7 WII WARE GAMES were very popular. That's not the only reason: We've actually always thought about another 4th party character so it's good to look around at options. A few others that we've mentioned before were from Tatsunoko (Ken the Eagle, KARAS, Tekkaman), Marvel (Wolverine?), and DC (Batman). I just wanted to put one of them up here to see what would happen.
Just be glad I put this up or one of these characters could've actually made it into the game. I want to know what fans think and this is a good way, I guess.
I will say this, SmashKing's list does contain not only a few characters on the roster, but other characters we've talked about.

Hey, wait! What ever happened to "Just another sword user?" Exactly. Medusa>Magnus, despite me favoring magnus more. If he was on the poll, though, I'd vote for him rather than everyone.
And for fourth parties: Tatsunoko: A very little known anime company, only really known for tatsunoko vs capcom. marvel: Spider man or bust. Stan lee once even said that Spider man was like his Mickey mouse. DC: Batman wouldn't fit. Spider man kind of, but not really either.
If any other fourth party (which would be ridiculous to have two) it should be another DBZ char(Frieza, Piccolo, Vegeta) or another anime character-probably from a different genre(konata).

DMX, i'm preeeety sure we don't know barely ANYTHING about Magnus yet. And guess who else uses his sword in a unique way? Nightmare! And they're both heavyweights with heavyweight items, except Nightmare is more unique! Well, would ya look at that?

I think Frank still deserves a chance to be in... everyone else doesn't seem like they'd be very fun to play as.
Except Strongbad. Vote for Strongbad!

No. We don't need another fourth party.
And Dead Rising could've been received better: mainly because of the sequals. He's also not the most popular capcom rep, and uniqueness is high, but not a 5.

It is too soon to seriously consider Magnus if you ask me. But here are some facts. Though Magnus appears to be a new character to the series, he only appears in the first 2 chapters of Kid Icarus: Uprising. After that he is gone. Not sure how many chapters are in the game itself, but being only in the first 2 chapters doesn't help prove enough priority. Magnus was put into the new Kid Icarus to bring in a darker and more epic partner for the player to experience with Pit along the adventure. Pretty much seeing how Pit is kiddy and friendly, Magnus is partnered up with him to have that kiddy/mature relationship where these two personalities interact for entertainment. But here is one problem with considering Magnus. Recurring characters like Pelutena, Medusa, & Eggplant Wizard return to the series in the same game as Magnus. Must I remind everyone that those 3 have more priority and mean more to the series than Magnus. And DMX please minimize Magnus picture. I can't stand page stretching
