What's the point of these kinds of threads if you don't listen to fans?

Now what was thought for the past is in for the future;
but honestly, I don't think this needs to be locked, though.
This is what you want.
Someone should make a character speculation thread.

And to be honest, Phantom and I did not consider what forum members think when we selected the roster. Why? You judge characters on Fan Art?
Is that why characters like Ristar, Mach Rider, and Frank West got in over the Ice Climbers, who have been in 2 Smashes already, Viewtiful Joe, who's fighting style just SCREAMS Smash Bros., and Meowth, who has been waiting since the first Smash Bros. to be playable?

My respect for this game died some. I'll still play it because I'm not an @$$, but I'm disappointed in it and whoever's idea it was to use FAN ART to decide characters.
Especially considering most of Rosalina's Fan Art is ecchi or even worse.

If I were deciding characters, I would listen to what the fans wanted, not just assume things based on images found on Google.
The fans are the ones going to play the game, not gamers in general. You catered to the wrong audience.

I have to agree with golden 100%. Fan art should not determine who should be playable. For example, ridley doesnt have that many fan art due to how detailed and complex his artwork is. Starfy (who is smash worthy) has probably the easiest fan art that anyone can make. But in the end, with such simple artwork, does that make starfy more deserving than ridley? I dont think so (though he still a good choice), but not before ridley.

And yes, catering to just gamers in general is not a good audiance. Think about this, the majority of the crusade fans, if not all ARE in this forum. Gamers that are not in this forum are the ones that are more likely to download the game, play it teporarely, delete it from their computer, and never play it again. While those of us that are on this forum have pitched in their ideas and opinions, try to contribute any assistance possible to speed up developement, and have followed past, present, and future demos. Clearly, the fans that do matter most are the ones in the forum discussing this game. Not those outside who dont follow or even care for the game, so why should they matter more than your forum users?

Fan-art determines fanbases, which is a slight help for the representation part of thegrading system.
@smashking: They can also judge the few fans based on smashboards.
And if catering to gamers in general, we might as well have Master Cheif, whoever you play as in Call of Duty, and all those other M-rated shooting games, because as far as my school goes, 90% of the people who play video games play shooters.
@golden: Just sayin', VJoe WAS in the previous roster.

Let's face it- everyone keeps arguing and complaining because no one knows the roster and we could get more sprites if people knew who we needed them for. If you don't like a character on here, I don't know what to do. I will sprite these characters and these only with an exception of two.

A lot of those people actually make no sense whatsoever.
Skull Kid? Seriously? He doesn't really seem to smashy at all.
I have never heard of Aero the Acrobat. No one here has mentioned him at all either.
Sub-Zero? from MORTAL KOMBAT? an M rated game? Waitwut? Was he even on Nintendo?
Also, Phantom or you once said that "There's no need for Dr. Mario. Why would we have two Marios? Paper Mario isn't needed either"
Earthworm Jim? Only one person has requested him here. He doesn't really seem to smashy, IMO.
And also, I see no need for two capcom fighters when we could have different fighting game characters from different companies.
Protoman? Don't see much difference between him and Megaman, cept a shield.
Rival Trainer? As much as he seems fun, he doesn't really seem to fit. Random pokemon like those just don't seem very logical.
That's all I have to say.

Actually, I wouldn't really mind Dark Samus.
He'd kind of be broken, though, but his moveset is much different from Samus, he's quite popular(not necessarily for smash though), moveset potential is right there in the game, and uses Phazon to attack.
And pretty much same thing as Golden for meh, but I wouldn't really mind Frank, though it'd be better to replace him with Arthur, I wouldn't mind DS, and I wouldn't like Morrigan or EWJim.
I have no reason to contradict him, though. The only reason I don't like him is because His appearance extremely nausiates meI'm not fond of his appearance, and with Morrigan, I don't feel she's too family-friendly, and we could have a better fighting game character, IMO.

Yeah, the Robotnik in recent Sonic games. He will have a good share of classic things, though. And don't worry about Dark Samus- she'll be different enough.

Frank West will be fun to play, trust me. Him vs Snake would be awesome. And Morrigan not being an E-Like character isn't too bad- she made it into a Wii game. That works for me.
