Metal Sonic's a robot. *checks roster R.O.B is technically the only other robot on there and yet the two are beyond different. How many anthropomorphic animals do we have? *checks roster About a 10th of the roster is talking animals. How many characters we got that punch and kick? How many characters that use fire in some way? etc. Also, Mega Man is a robot as well. ALSO, we don't have many aliens, and Shadow is one due to his Black Arms DNA. And as for any weapons of destruction, we have only one other, and that's Mewtwo. Mewtwo vs. Shadow would be EPIC. Also, there's also the fact that Metal deserves **** and never should have come back after CD. (Neither should've Shadow, but at least his role in Adventure 2 made him deserving of SOME status) |

Similar magic powers? Zelda, Rosalina, Geno, Ganondorf, Vaati, Krystal, Mewtwo, Lucario... I could go on 1. Zelda: ACTUAL magic. 2. Rosalina: Cosmic power. 3. Geno: Wat is dis I dont even.....he uses magic in ANY way similar to Zelda? I call shenanigans. 4. Ganondorf: Dark magic. 5. Vaati: Dark magic and wind magic. 6. Krystal: Doesn't use magic in attacks. Just FS. 7. Mewtwo: Psychic energy. And strangely, dark energy. 8. Lucario: Aura. Shadow has Chaos energy, which is not at all similar to ANY of these, except for Mewtwo's dark energy. For one, Shadow doesn't rely on it for most of his attacks. He is also capable of direct hand-to-hand combat, as well as spins like Sonic. For another thing, the WAY he uses it is different, unless you were (stupidly) planning on making him similar to those listed. He can slow down time around him, use it to jet himself or teleport, create energy fields around him that vary in size and strength (Chaos Burst and Chaos Blast), strike with bolts of pure energy, create energy fields on his hands to increase the strength of his punches, even create little balls of energy that follow him (Roaming Chaos). Then, there's Metal Sonic. What can that undeserving hunk of scrap do? Claws. Bowser, Charizard, and Wolf have that covered. Flying tackle. Green Missile, Skull Bash. FLAMING flying tackle. Falcon Kick. And then again, more than half of Smash's cast use fire in some way. Electic Barrier. Not unlike PSI Magnet, only it does damage, am I right? LAZAR!!!! R.O.B. Goku. Punching and kicking. 95% of the cast does this already. Transform into giant monsters. Bowser, Ganondorf. Jet engine. R.O.B. Diamond shaped shield. Zelda. Stretchy arms and legs. Ristar. Imitation. Useless and impractical in a game like this. So when you say Shadow's tricks have been done, you are being a hypocrite, as Metal's have been done and then some. Not only that, but Metal is frigging unimportant in the Sonic series. Just a mindless servant. Also, he deserves nothing. Mecha Sonic should've been the one to return after his debut. Metal should've not been rebuilt. Granted, Shadow should've also stayed "dead", but at least he deserves credit for his role in Adventure 2. What was Metal's original role? Oh yeah, he was just some robot made in Sonic's image used in a death race where the loser was killed/destroyed. At least Mecha FOUGHT Sonic (and even survived), and even fought Knuckles afterwards! (Granted, he was destroyed, but he was CLEARLY the most capable of Sonic's robot counterparts.) He could also harness the power of the MASTER Emerald to go Super. Yeah, not only was he a ROBOT that went Super, he did it from the MASTER Emerald, which normally should'nt have been possible, if I remember correctly. If it all comes down to it, maybe there should be NO new Sonic characters after Tails and Knuckles. Shadow sparks debate, Eggman just wouldn't seem right, and Metal Sonic deserves it as much as Cream the Rabbit. |

I still can't believe we are even comparing the two. Shadow is the obvious favorite and more important to the series, which explanations already mentioned above.
Honestly, I personally rather see Ai-Ai rather than any of these 2 since we have enough Sonic reps. But Shadow is my pick of the 2.
And wait, more Sonic reps on the DLC?? The current 3 are enough, Shadow & Eggman is spoiling it, anything more is just way over doing it.

XD Oh, for liking MS more? That's what you were asking? Simple. I like MS more because I think he's cooler than Shadow and he's generally awesome. I agree. Although, Weapon Spawn might not be so bad if it was just for say, a Ray Gun. And you could only spawn one for each life. (meaning you can't spawn another until you are KOed.)

Actually, in Shadow's game, he is able to wield firearms as well as other weapons. Some of the guns he can use are similar to the Ray Gun where they are laser shots.
He has NOT used grenades like in the hack, but he has used guns that are similar to the Super Scope and Cracker Launcher, but not similar enough like the Ray Gun.
