Yeah, I might be maining him too lol.
Other miscellaneous change:
- He's now lighter than Ryu, but has faster walk and air speed

Just trying to make him more different from normal Ryu. Many of his new moves make him seem more evil. Especially that new Final Smash.

Curious, why not just make him Akuma?
He's exactly the same anyways.

Because Akuma is an actual character.
Evil Ryu doesn't count as a separate character, so if they wanted to keep Ryu as the only Street Fighter, they can technically do that.

I main Ryu and Duds in SSF4, and sometimes, when I play Ryu in SSBC, I kinda start thinking I'm playing SSF4 and try to space with low medium kick, only to realize my Down Tilt is not the same. XP
However, Evil Ryu now has that move.

For the EX Hadouken you first press B and then immeadiatly forward. (While Ryu is making his animation for doing the Hadouken). While for the EX Hurracaine kick and EX Shoryuken it works more or less like tilts and smashes in the game. To perform the attacks in their normal version just press the buttons as you would do for doing a tilt attack and for doing the EX versions press the buttons as if you would do a smash attack or in other words press the buttons at the same time.
