We all know about Ryu, one of the characters of the Street Fighter series.
So, anyone have anything to discuss about him?

I played Street Fighter 2 once.
I didn't like it.
Too little fights, AND ZANGRIEF IS COMPLETELY OVERPOEWRED AGAINST CHUN-LI.

lol This is RYU discussion, I think?
I main him in SSBC and secondary him in Super SF4 (I main Dudley and also secondary Cody). I tried to keep some of his classic SF strategies intact in SSBC, which is a little hard to do considering the style of play in Smash Bros. But I think he turned out okay!

The little things I know about Akuma match Evil Ryu EXACTLY. (appearance, taunt, final smash)
Was this on purpose, or was it in SF?

I like the Duo Hadokens in the air, and the Raging Demon is epic.

That's a good question. Since this is just general discussion, I'd say we keep both in here. In fact, what about him? What makes you prefer him? I prefer his counter ability, and the Raging Demon. Also, the fact he doesn't have many EX moves is good for me. Also, (this may or may not be true) I like that his attacks hit harder. It's also the closest I can get to being Akuma. |

He just seems much more B.A. as Dark Ryu. And I like his SSF4 Design.

He's really just a "what if" version of Ryu who has given into the "Satsui no Hado" ("Surge of Killing Intent"). Basically, Ryu wants to win so badly that he embraces the idea of killing his opponents. Of course, this doesn't canonically happen (to my understanding), but he is still a playable character in several games. Evil Ryu's also in the Arcade Edition of SSF4. |

You could just have the meter but it can't activate an FS.

For example, if Final Smashes are off, Ryu keeps his meter, but can't activate a FS? Not a bad idea.

Besides, his EX moves have pros and cons. - EX Hadouken is stronger and hits twice, but it has more lag. - EX Tatsumaki is stronger, but it stays in place and has less range. - EX Shoryuken hits twice, is stronger, and has more invincibility, but it has more lag and is weaker as an anti-air. |

His counter is fun. I can do a sweep or a SHORYUKEN!

Not sure about this... No one else has meter. Besides, his EX moves have pros and cons.
