I'm not saying he took more data. They had to create 3d models and then flatten them.
Also, I'm like to point out his Side-B.
But this is a stupid discussion.

I agree that he may have been difficult to put in since seeing a 2D character fighting 3D characters looked off in the beginning, but they made it work.
Now as far as his side b, 3D data and less animation that was missing was covered in place for his Side B. But even that didnt require much data either.

Those 2 are good reps. ROB was not just a accessory, but saved the entire gaming history and we would not be having these type of discussions or even be playing video games to this day if it wasnt for ROB. And Mr. GAW was the mascot of the Game & Watch series, the originator of the handheld genre. Game & Watch was the first popular handheld of many to come after. And it later influenced the Gameboys, DS's, nanos, Giga-pets, etc. And it influenced the Furby toys and many other toys as well. You are true about R.O.B. and why he's a good rep. Not true on G&W. It IS true that the Game & Watch was the originator of the handheld genre, but that isn't a reason that warrants his inclusion. In fact, there IS NO Mr. Game & Watch in the series. Melee made up a character based on the old Game & Watch games. In fact, the reason why Mr. G&W was in Melee was to honor the creator of G&W, who died before production of Melee was completed. And the fact that he's technically a product of Smash is why the SSE was able to say he's made of Shadow Bugs; because he is original to the series, and they can do whatever they want with him in terms of a backstory. (At the same time, because R.O.B. is a piece of Nintendo hardware, rather than an actual character, they can also make up a story for him. I.E. The Ancient Minister story)

The reason for mr. game and watch being playable due to honoring the creator is actually true

Gunpei Yokoi made the Game & Watch games and he also created the GameBoy. He also helped on the development of the original Donkey Kong game, the early Super Mario games, Kid Icarus, & Metroid. And a couple of other Nintendo titles.
And the N64 was actually released 7 months before his death. Smash Bros started development almost a year later after his death. He died of a traffic accident at the age of 56

Well, I'm making one last change. I'm bringing back Geno and cutting the Miis.
And Dr. Mario is back to representing the Dr. Mario series, rather than the Mario series.
And I know what I said about Geno, however, I can't ignore that he is one the most requested characters, and that alone may be why he gets in SSB4...

I don't really "get" Geno, but he seems pretty cool.

Neither do I. Why he was one of the most requested characters for Brawl, I will never know...

Just because a character is very highly requested doesnt mean that the character itself is a good choice. And there is where Geno stands, he is not a good choice.

Why wouldn't he be a good choice? He's popular and humanoid (which makes spriting and thinking up movesets easier). Plus you can take his special moveset straight out of mario RPG. He has 5 attacks in that I think, and one of them is a projectile that does 999 damage... that could be his final smash.

All the Ice Climbers have is a fanbase. All Mr. Game & Watch has is a fanbase. etc.
If it weren't for the fanbase, Sonic wouldn't have been in Brawl.

Sonic has a fanbase is widely known third party.
Geno has an uber-loyal, but not as big fanbase and is third party now too.
See the difference?

Trust me. Knowing Sakurai's decisions on the game, seeing as Geno is one of the most requested characters may be the only reason he gets in.

That is, IF Sakurai is in charge of the next one. As much as people hate him, we'd hate it if he wan't in charge/
