Darth Vader, seeing as he was originally planned, and is probably more well-known than any of the other characters.
Or
Homer Simpson. But I can't really elaborate for him, and Darth would obviously be the better choice.

I don't see why people vote for Vegeta...
I know he's cool and all, and is the Luigi to Goku's Mario, but like Goku, he just uses punches, kicks, and beams, albiet in a different way.
If we were to have another new 4th Party, it should be someone with a different style than Goku. Like Karas, Darth Vader, or Homer.
For me, it's a hard decision between the three. (Homer would be classified under other, so that may be a problem.) Although, Vader is a little higher on the list for me, seeing as:
a. A Star Wars character was planned in the past.
b. Darth Vader has been in a game like Smash Bros. (The Force Unleashed II has a multiplayer mode exclusive to the Wii that works like Smash.)
c. It's EFFing Darth Vader.
By that, I vote Vader.

never was a fan of 4th parties in a Smash game. I wasnt even pleased when Goku came into Smash Bros Crusade. Shouldve added none as an option.

Personally, I agree with that.
I think Smash should be JUST for vid-game characters.
However, if I was forced to have one other one, it'd be Darth.
The only 4th party I wouldn't actually mind.

Vegeta isnt just like Goku how you claim him to be. He's a more aggresive fighter and his beam moves work differently. You cant say that their the same, because they're far from that. Not to mention Vegeta has Final Explosion which is the best idea for a final smash imo for him. Whats Piccolo got? Stretchy arms, and beams. HOLY POO. Same with Frieza just a tail and more beams.
Its the WAY they fight is how you do it. Luigi's A moves are QUITE different from Mario's. Thats the thing. And, Vegeta is a bigger character to the series than Frieza or Hercule. Thats a given.
Why vote for Darth Vader? He's a REAL LIFE MOVIE CHARACTER, in a smash bros game? It's crazy. It should be Shunned.

I would just like to point out that every single fan made smash bros I've seen has had Goku as a character. Not one has tried Vegeta. I have also never seen Darth Vader but firstly I doubt there are great sprites of him and second of all he doesn't exactly fit with Nintendo. He was cool in Soul Calibur but even then he didn't exactly fit

I said that he has the same type of attacks as Goku. Which Frieza and Piccolo have differences with. Piccolo has stretchy arms, which Goku does not, he has Hellzone Grenade which is NOTHING like any of Goku's techniques, a mouth laser, and energy bursts. Special Bean Cannon also has more differences to the Kamehameha than Vegeta's Galick Gun. Frieza has his tail, obviously, and fights using finger lasers in various sizes, a tiny ball of devastating power, energy disks (like Krillin), and the Supernova, which is similar to the Spirit Bomb. Also, his unique abilities depend on his forms. (i.e. can impale people with his horns on his 2nd Form) Frieza is more like Mewtwo than he is Goku, or how Mewtwo would be if he was the uber Psychic he was in the anime. I'm not saying Vegeta is a bad choice. I'm saying Vegeta is too similar to Goku in abilities. If this were an anime fighter, it would be fine, but seeing as Goku is a special case for this Smash fangame, Vegeta (or any other DBZ character for that matter) is unnecessary. We got a DBZ representative; let another series get a shot. As for Vader, he was already in a Smash style game, so it isn't too farfetched. Vegeta was too, but I've already said why no Vegeta. I'd take Naruto or Yugi before another DBZ character. |

there are sprites of vader yes, but as I said they aren't great. www.panelmonkey.org/gs/darthvader.gifthese aren't exactly the greatest sprites in the world. I will put in that the biggest issue is the colors which could easily be changed. They don't exactly have enough to make a full move set but what sheet does right? By the way, how does Darth Vader actually have any reason to be in Crusade? Goku was in more games and also had more "popularity" in terms of how many games with him were played. To be honest, Goku is, in a lot of ways, a borderline game character.
But if we add Vegeta, people will complain about too many anime characters. Besides, he's really similar to Goku.
Scott Pilgrim, to me, seems to be a better choice. He could have a diverse moveset, and there are a TON of nintendo references in the film, novels, and game.
