Let's see....Luigi wears GREEN, not RED. Luigi is TALLER than Mario, and Luigi is easily recogniseable next to Mario.

If you put them next to each other, they are easily distinguished.
By the same point, Ninten has differently colored clothes than Ness.

This is getting too dramatic.
Look at us. Arguing over a worthy character that could be replaced by a worthy character that could be replaced by another worthy character, when the devs (cept falcon) didn't even seem to consider an EarthBound rep.
Look at that old roster. Yes, its changed. But the characters they replaced...they may be worthy, but think about some things.
There was no new MGS rep
No new EarthBound rep
No new Fire Emblem rep
This is albeit starting to get into a flame war. Just look around the posts where red said "Ok? Thanks". This is getting too deep to just be for a fan-game.
I'm going to stop arguing over Ninten. Whether he, Masked Man, or Porky get in, I do not care and I'd love them all.
But by the looks of things, DMX and Phantom aren't even considering these people as characters.

The image above proves why ninten is not the best choice when you already have ness (who is ninten's successor). Plus, changing anything from ninten as far as appearance only takes away from his origins, thus it wont be ninten, especially if he only had one appearance. Changing him to make him far different from ness is like taking mario's hat away from him and giving him something he never worn before.

At least we can tell Mario and Dr Mario apart, and they are the same exact person while Ninten and Ness look way too alike and they are different people. Its a shame

Yep, really is a shame.
Anyways, the fact that Ness was in the original Smash rather than Ninten kind of gives the idea that Ninten won't ever be in, despite being the first Mother hero.

That is true, I think Ninten's best chances of ever being in the game as a playable character was 12 years ago before the first Smash Bros came out. Where he couldve taken the same spot Ness is holding now, but that is not the case and now his ship has sailed over a decade ago.
