Pichu for DLC

If we HAD to have another trainer character, make it May or Wes. May to represent 3rd gen, or Wes to represent the Pokémon gamecube games, plus 2nd gen (Espeon and Umbreon) and 3rd gen (Pokémon Colosseum came out during 3rd gen) get represented. The Rival Trainer would just add ANOTHER 1st gen rep, and we already have Pikachu, Mewtwo, Jiggs, the 3 Pokémon Trainer Pokémon, thats SIX. Seven with Rival Trainer. A little over-the-top IMO.

But this is off-topic.
Why should DMX care about DLC? If it is DLC, then he doesn't have to download it, etc. He probably wouldn't have to sprite it, either. Which is probably his main concern, though it may not be.
Oh yeah, I forgot, the devs decided to go Hitler on us and decide all DLC.
They should regulate dumb choices, etc, but shouldn't have complete control.

And why does it seem like all of these discussions turn into arguments of fans vs. devs (mostly Phantom or DMX)?

Haven't you realized that already SP? There's always been an internal conflict between us and them. Quite frankly, I think the trouble makers should just grow up and respect others rather than posting unnecessary reasons and comments to attempt to support the theory of who's right and who's wrong. Back on topic, Pichu is a great addition to Crusade, so I don't see a reason why Pichu shouldn't be in as a DLC.

@sp: Because they feel that the fans are too biased and that they aren't. I feel that if they feel we're biased, they should have to prove that we're biased, like we have with them on occasion. Maybe posting the reviews they use to research the games would be useful so we can see where they're coming from.

Doing the math, this means Pichu has an 85% chance of being in as DLC (although he didn't specify how he'd be in...)

I might start on sprites after school is out. Any final changes you want made to the moveset? At the moment, it's the posted specials and FS, and I think he'll keep his normal attacks (save for maybe adding Iron Tail in somewhere).

I'd say don't use Mystery Dungeon, they're too small and made for a game that has an overworld view.

Actually, screw the poll. I'mma use #1.
The sprites are the perfect size in comparison to Pikachu's, and they look nice.
Only problem is they need a lot of custom stuff. At least the pieces are there.

EDIT: Anyone want Iron Tail as a d-air spike/meteor smash? ;D

On-Topic: I know you said that Pichu can't learn Electro Ball, but neither Pichu nor Pikachu can learn Skull Bash, and they have it as their Side Special in SSB.

Pikachu is in the list of pokemon that can learn it through TM40 back in the old days.

Pichu used to be game director Junichi Masuda's favorite Pokémon. His new favorite is Victini.

So Golden, Victini may have a chance at making it into SSB4.

When Skull Bash was added to Pikachu's arsenal, it couldn't learn it in the current Generation.

And it still doesn't excuse Pichu, clone or not. Considering that his Up Special is Agility, not Quick Attack.

And a similar thing with Mewtwo; Mewtwo could learn Teleport through TM in Generation 1, but starting with Generation 2, it couldn't. Mewtwo is in Crusade, which currently is on the 5th Generation. Mewtwo technically should not have Teleport.

And with Lucario's "Crow Bite" attack...well, if you choose to call it that, then it's an original move that Lucario never used before. If you choose to refer to it as Sky Uppercut like I do, then there is only one way Lucario can get it. Breed a Lucario with a Comusken/Blaziken that has the move, and evolve the Riolu.

So...what's the problem with Pichu using Electro Ball?

EDIT: I think it was a helping factor, but I don't think that's why he was in. Sakurai made Melee, not Masuda. Zoroark still has more of a chance, IMO.

After reading the effect:
1. Can it even be coded properly?
2. That would give Pichu an insane advantage over characters like Ganondorf and Zelda with insanely slow running speed.

In any case, it could replace Shock Wave as his FS N-Special. There's no way it could be fit in otherwise, without messing up Endure-Flail. It would be too powerful for a normal N-Special.

The main problem is that all those Pokemon you mentioned can learn the mentioned attack somehow. Pichu however is completely unable to learn Electro Ball.
I think Skull Bash on Pichu was definitely Sakurai being lazy

That's the SSF2 spritesheet with the SSF2 part removed, and the final smash changed slightly.

And personally, I don't like that one very much.
For one, electricity is used in too many attacks for Pichu to even have a fighting chance, and the spriting seems extremely lazy (Pichu simply Ground-Pounds with electricity for his D-aerial instead of flipping over and spinning, for example).

Meh, I suppose it's usable. I like the style of the other one better though.
I could flip the "Sent Flying" sprites and add the electrical effect for the D-Air (unless we change it to Iron Tail). There aren't a lot of usable sprites since they're all either pretty much the same thing or not the sprite I'm looking for.
Maybe I'll try a few sprites this weekend if I have time.

I don't see what the problem is with having the other veterans as DLC, especially when someone else is willing to do the work for them.
He didn't even correct himself on the "typo" in his post, despite me mentioning it three times.

I haven't even done anything besides find an editable spritesheet and make a new moveset. That's not really "going through this much trouble".
I suppose we'll all just have to agree to disagree. DMX just seems to hate every suggestion I make at this point. I honestly wonder what DMX would have said if I suggested Zoroark right now as opposed to back in January, when he liked (or at least wasn't opposed to) all my ideas.

I am in favor of having Pichu as a DLC. He's a Melee veteran, which is good enough reason for me alone. He's also getting a new moveset, so he'll be an all-new character. If DMX is opposed, too bad. DLCs are a long way off anyway, so we'll have plenty of time to make up our minds.
