Sounds more annoying than challenging if you ask me.
Well, since I'm pretty much the only one against the idea of Cool Down, then ok, add it. Though I still disagree that it would work. As long as Excitebiker is playable rather than a 3rd party then I cant really complain.

I would LOVE to work on Excitebiker ^_^ Though my spriting skills are not up there, this would be a good chance for me to learn from it. I pretty much know the basics of it. I am the only spriter (well one in training) who doesn't have anything to work with. Also, maybe AEM can help me out on it also. Well, im still currently working on a Duck Hunt Dog sprite sheet, but Excitebiker would be fun also. EDIT: I just got started on spriting Excitebiker. So far I got started with his helmet. I made it from scratch. Tell me what you guys think. NOTE: the helmet is big on purpose so that everyone can have a closer look.  |

I love it,but don't you think that he need TO BE on his Bike? He is both on and off the bike. He works like Olimar does in a way, so the Bike works like if he had Pikmin. |

No, he's always on his bike. So basically, we need a character to edit and a bike to edit.

Better yet
Take Excitebiker off the roster. He brings nothing new to the table, we already have a racer and a bike rider. We don't need a two-in-one.
And that sprite is too big imo.

I think we could take Falcon or Mach Rider to get Excite's basic poses, actually. It would take a lot of editing, but it's needed.

He's quite similar to Mach and Captain Falcon. In both gameplay and appearance. At least Balloon Fighter would only look like Mario but have a very different moveset. Not saying that Excitebiker couldn't. But I mean they both have bikes. And Jigglypuff and Kirb worked well and differently, yet having similar appearances. Yet BF could have a MUCH different moveset. Heck. I think I'm gonna make one. Not nao, though. I'll make a thread some time or another. |

You both never read the moveset.
NOTHING, at all makes him similar to the other two, other then two moves. Otherwise he's an original character.
And Excitebiker is like Mario's height he's not 6 ft 5 or Something.

To be perfectly honest, I don't like the idea of Excitebiker.
But I would prefer him over Balloon Fighter.

Excitebike is one of the games among the NES with others like Super Mario Bros, Zelda, Metroid, and Punch-Out that defined Nintendo's debut to the gaming world and still stands as one of Nintendo's most well-known franchises. Such a classic title still makes a strong impact on gaming today.
Excitebike can have his own moveset. You just need a little bit of creativity.
