Excitebiker Sprites & Moveset

Well, That motorcycle looks almost nothing like Excitebiker's Motobike, but if you can edit it to look like it, that'd be fine, then.

Sorry guys that I haven't been on the past few days to work on Excitebiker. That hurricane Irene caused my work to be delayed and I had to make sure my home and family would be safe from it. Blessed that my family is safe and I hope those of you on this forum living on the east coast are safe as well.

Anyways back on topic.

As for the sprite above, yes I could just edit that whole sheet, but seeing how it looks nothing like Excitebiker's bike, it would take me a whole lot longer than just customizing it. I have already made the bike, I customize it to be as similar to his bike as I can. PLEASE CHECK THE OP.

But yea, though I can't re-edit that sprite sheet cause it would take forever, well in my case, what I can do is use it as a blueprint to see how many frames I need, what angle they need to be, etc. Pretty much it can be useful for me in some way.

I have 2 requests

1. Can an admin. move this thread to the WIP thread?

2. Can someone send me a Crusade Mario frame so that I can compare the size between Mario & Excitebiker? I want this so I can resize Excitebiker to a more fair size since there have been complaints of his size.

Still not fully fond of the sprites, the shading is too dark, he also looks way to stiff in the idle, and his arm looks busted in the First part if the combo.

Ok I'm just going to have to say no to those sprites. For one, they're massive. For two, the left foot looks really bad. For three, THEY'RE MASSIVE.
Consider the fact that this is a RETRO (8-16 bit) character we're talking about, and his sprites are larger than GOKU'S. This does not work. You're giving yourself WAY too much extra work by making him this big. If you really want to make Excitebiker sprites, then do a couple things first:
1. Make a good base that isn't absolutely massive.
2. Make a good base that isn't absolutely massive.
3. Make sure the head isn't exactly the same in half his frames. With sprites that large you're leaving yourself a ton of room for detail that you're currently not utilizing. If you don't want to have to utilize the detail, then make a smaller base sprite.
Try making them about the size of Mach Rider.

You could resize and make edits to the original 8-bit sprites, but idk if that would work.

Well, I plan to resize him to make him evenly size as everyone else.

And again, for everyone to know. The massive size of Excitebiker was not the plan. He is only that big so that everyone can have a closer look at him so that everyone can have more detailed views of him.

Resizing sprites makes them look VERY bad. Shrinking or increasing. So, uh, you'd be much better off making him smaller.

yea i just found out. lol. i tried to resize it by decreasing. looks like I will have to start from scratch all over again. i will probably get started on that tomorrow.

Ok guys, I resized Excitebiker, fixed up the pixels a bit, and compared him to Mario. Now this is not the official sprite im going to use, unless you guys are ok with it. But Im only making a comparison to see if everyone is ok with the size. let me know if this is satifying enough

If so, You could easly edit Mach Raiders sprites to Exeitbike.
