I think Rosalina and NiGHTS would be very similar. They both float and use magic. However, Rosalina is open to use Star Bits, Sling Stars, her shield bubble, Co-Star Luma, and even the Hungry Lumas. Therefore, Rosalina has more moveset potential just from one game. You also have to think about Representation. Rosalina represents Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Those are arguably two of the best games ever made. NiGHTS represents 2 games that received okay scores.
Replacing Rosalina with another Mario character would be illogical. We need a game to represent the Galaxy series and Rosalina does it best. Bowser Jr. already represents Super Mario Sunshine and many other Mario games, but so would Petey Piranha. Bowser Jr. is the best choice of those 2 because of not only his fanbase, but his moveset potential too.
And that NiGHTS sheet is terrible, feed it to the sharks.
@golden: That's not a very good way to determine uniqueness. Aero and Charizard would be the only two characters to use their wings to attack. And Star Rods haven't even been confirmed to be an item yet. And who really cares about Barrel Cannons? He's the only CHARACTER with that kind of move, making him unique compared to others.
And the Unicycle will be pretty cool. You'll see. And the Drill Attack? Maybe you should read up on your history first. Aero's drill is much different than Meta Knight's. It's quicker and can only be at an angle. And don't think that just because they sound similar means they will be in the game itself.
I'd like to see a moveset for NiGHTS that does not make it a clone. And btw, I've decided to try and sprite some of Aero. His animations look stunning and smooth. I can finish him soon.

I voted for Nights. Even though Aero won game or character of the year, he was quickly forgotten and never really seen or mentioned again since. Nights has been growing a popularity in today's generation.

But if you honestly say you can't see a non-cloned moveset on him, then you're worse than Sakurai with his "Captain Ganon".
Honestly, it's clear that we both don't know enough about NiGHTS to make a proper argument.

Maybe the 2nd most popular sonic character, but not really sure if he is 2nd most popular from sega in general. And we cant say that shadow is a sonic spin off character based only on that one game either. Toad had his own game at one point as well as bowser and peach, but they are still strictly mario characters. So really, shadow is still strictly a sonic character. Luigi has been in far more games than link, yet link is the 2nd most popular nintendo character. Im only explaining this example if anyone thinks that shadow is 2nd most popular from sega only cause he had that one game.

According to the poll, nights has 54% of the votes while aero is tied wit the "both" option. Nights look to be the favorite here. And look like no matter if we get aero or not, nights is still more over. Therefore, its pretty as if no one cares if aero gets in, as long as nights is playable. Again this is according to the poll

Aero does have fighting potential and moveset, cant deny that. But his lack of fame and popularity is where it effects him the most. I agree with falcon though, its either both or nights. I would have say nights just to save the empty spot for another character
