How many times has it been said that it was never a competition with SSF2? I've lost track.

It'd be kind of sad to see this go... Especially since SSF2 is going to allow custom characters and stages too, this game will probably fall into obscurity once it's done. I was really hoping both would be popular, but I guess that won't happen now.

Both won't be popular? I can see an engine like this becoming beyond popular when opened to the public.

Im sorry guys, after some serious thinking I dont see this benefitting much people. Sure the fans can put in what they want in the game, but 2/3 of the fanbase dont know how to do stuff like spriting, programming, etc. I think this concept only can work for very few people.
In my opinion, let DMX work on mario bros, phantom does zelda, & falcon (if he wants to) could be the main dev & programmer while the regulars on the forum help him out with spriting, artwork, etc. In that case, all 3 project can be developed all at one time.

What Smash King said. It was Falcon's game from the get-go anyway.

You can't just have one person work on a project. It will take too long to get anywhere.

Nothing will change regarding Falcon. He'll program like he always did.

Have you ever considered trying to make it possible for others to help with coding? Almost like making it open source but just in specific areas so Falcon isn't alone in coding the game.

I have a question for you, DMX: Did you and Phantom actually talk with Falcon before making this decision? The game is more his work than either of yours, and what you're going to release is the code-the one part that you two had almost no part in making. If he's fine with it, then so be it, but I haven't heard his name mentioned in any of this.

No. Dont make this open source. I support the idea of adding Characters/Stages, but as a separate file (Like SSB NES did). If you make this open source, the project will be doomed. The web will be filled with shitty Crusade clones. Dont do that for the sake of well done engines (This engine is 100000000x times better than Flash 2's engine)

As much as I'd love to try and add online to Crusade, I voted No. You guys brought this too far just to cancel it because last months have been busier and development slowed down. That's normal. You have in your hands something that even in this state has more content than original Smash Bros. Think about this for a while. Take this as motivation. www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8zvwIOCSNoAnd talk to Falcon8 if you somehow haven't already and are already writing things like this.

I doubt they didn't include falcon (at least I hope). He probably just hasn't had the chance to post yet.

You can't just have one person work on a project. It will take too long to get anywhere. IIRC, falcon does programming with ease. The main thing that is slowing down the development process is spriting. But, since we now have a number of spriters, process can be done faster. Though school is not making it as easy, but its not impossible Honestly, I wish I can help falcon myself, especially since im majoring in computer science in college, but im a "C" student and only know the basics.

Hmm, now that I thought about it and I'm not blinded by a lack of sleep, I'm retracting my vote and staying neutral on the subject.
I think that more people should have a say in the roster/the game as a whole, I think that would help make people who want to help with the project more motivated to actually work instead of sitting around and doing diddly squat.

Guys, don't look at this as a bad thing. I mean really, we can just make another forum, (Project C) and all of the spriters/animators/etc. can work on the game, then upload the stuff done for those that can't sprite and such for them to use. Look at it this way, it's like we're getting new devs, (and the old ones that decide to stay) and a new forum, only that there won't be secrets anymore. (Such as the roster.) Also, we don't have to worry about the bad SSBC clones, for we will make the version that we want that benefits us, the true Crusade community. What the crap Excal. Project: Crusade was my idea. Make your own name. >:U Lolumad? Actually, you shot down the idea of making it more balanced since you really don't care. And Project C fits perfectly for the name just like Project M did for Brawl.

Who do you think is better fit to continue Crusade, the tester and would-be programmer/spriter of DLC or the guy that found the game two months ago and someone who isn't even on the forum? And I already made a forum so sucks for you.
In any case, I'm still waiting to hear from Falcon on this.

Listen here, no need to have the attitude you asshole, acting like you're the ****. What I'm saying is, EVERYONE helps in some way or another to continue the game. Have I ever said I was continuing the game myself? No. Why the heck do you think I said "no secrets", hmm? As in everyone will know what we, the new devs and old devs that stay are doing to help share their opinion and any help they provide to make the game better. Lrn2read, dumbass.
