*facepalm* That isn't what we're talking about.

BAH. Stethoscope is too silly for my taste. I don't see how it could be a weapon. Ever. And, how exactly does it tether? Is it covered in glue?
So, Down B is like a counter? Cool, I guess.

The tether is a stupid idea, but the freezing stethoscope idea I have is more or less a play on the joke that a stethoscope is "freezing cold". Seeing as Dr. Mario is really a joke doctor (no offense Dr. Mario fans), it wouldn't be too farfetched.
Either that or just don't include him if he's going to be a straight on clone again.

I think, it's the best to keep the UpB like Marios.

They did that because they were working on Kirby Superstar Ultra at the same time, where he did have a mechanized hammer. Melee was better anyways...
The stethoscope is like DK using his tie to recover. And you might just say "Oh that would be cool" but that's stupid. I'd rather have a clone than a crappy moveset.

Fixed somethuing for you. @falcon, now that you mention it, that now does seem a bit odd, unless it was a hook or something. DMX, what is really defined as a crappy moveset? In my opinion, a crappy moveset IS a clone, or at least someone that has more clone than original. And if we'd make him a clone, he'd need to have some of his original coding from Melee; I.E., combo is slower.

Keeping clones = Bad
De-cloning clones = Good.
And throwing viruses isn't really that weird of an idea.
King D3 thows waddle doos. So eh. Even if they aren't HIS enemy, its still AN enemy. Keeping him as a clone is icky and he would just be as boring as if there were a slightly stronger mario that was slightly slower. SnooooOOOOOORE.

Melee was better anyways... You have officially lost this argument.

The stethoscope is like DK using his tie to recover. And you might just say "Oh that would be cool" but that's stupid. I'd rather have a clone than a crappy moveset. The mechanized hammer was a seperate hammer than the wooden one, AND it was more of a mechanized hammer anyway. And I beleive that during Brawl's development, they were nowhere NEAR making Revenge of the King. And you completely missed the point. I'm not saying to use it to recover. I'm saying to use it as an attack. Specifically a freezing attack to make a play on the "ice cold stethoscope" that kids complain about at the doctor's. And like El Maiz said, you lost the argument when you said Melee was better. Not just because you picked a side (if you said the same for Brawl or 64, you still would've lost), but because that doesn't pertain to the topic at hand. Also, you cannot talk to ME about "crappy" movesets if what YOU want is a direct clone. There is no logic in that. Especially when you miss someone's point, as you did mine. Although, I suppose THIS post will be ignored and a fail statement will come again after, no?

I would point out that Dr. Tornado would make a great Up-B. Maybe with a spike at the end.

Eh, I'm still on the line of it as a tether (I take back the above statement of it would only be able to latch on if it was gluey, as Ivysaur can tether with a vine and Samus with an energy whip), but as long as its in at least a bit, it'd be fine. But if it'd be the whip thing, I think it should be side b. And IDK why, the Doc Tornado just seems kind of...IDK, I just don't think it fits.
And correct me if I'm wrong here, but Mr. Game and Watch's side special was based off of the time function. He'd attack with a number that existed due to the clock, and use the hammer as a normal attack. That at least has SOME backstory.

@golden: I think the principal point of Dr. Mario being in the game is being forgotten. Like Evil Ryu, Dr. Mario would be in the game as only a slightly altered Mario. He technically has the same moves, but they are different. I guess Evil Ryu is a clone by your logic.
If Dr. Mario were to be in this game, he would be there as another form of Mario.

That doesn't mean we can't make him very different. Look at Zero Suit Samus.

Zamus kinda has to be different, cause her power suit has gone bye-bye.
As for the Doc, here is my specials moveset...
NS - Megavitamin - Melee's NS for the Doc. Nuff said.
SS - Vaccine - Doc pulls out a vaccination needle and squirts the vaccine out; the vaccine turns into a small virus that can attack anyone, though it'll find it's way off the stage after a few seconds go by. Can have 2 "vaccine" viruses out at a time.
US - Super Doc Punch - A clone of Mario's, Luigi's, and Waluigi's Up Special. Couldn't think of anything else that wasn't super weird :U
DS - Defibrillator - Doc takes out a defibrillator and shocks anyone in range. A somewhat slow start-up but deals good electric-based damage and good knockback.

Actually yes, Evil Ryu is a clone in my eyes. HOWEVER, if Dr. Mario is going to be another FORM like ER, then by all means, make him a clone. I don't care if he's a clone if he is a form, rather than a separate character.

This moveset is great by me, and the Defibrilator could potentially deal stun damage, making Dr. Mario have some depth to his gameplay.
