Only thing I dont like about him being a seperate character is the fact we already have like 2039203920439242098 mario reps. I think we have 11  I think,making him a clone but giving him some buffs would be Nice and Okay,and make him selectable like Evil Ryu. Easy. |

Cause he'd be an alt form of Mario, not an entirely different character like he was in Melee. Like Evil Ryu is a separate form of Ryu in the game right now, and he is basically a clone (I haven't played as Evil Ryu, so I wouldn't know if Evil Ryu is a clone, but people say he is).
Of course, if he is an alt form and he becomes a clone, I'd still like the Doc to keep the physics he had different from Mario like in melee. Like the slower combo, etc.

Wow, Zamus was made to be an entirely different character. And even then, she has to not be a clone, cause let's face it, Zamus couldn't curl up into a ball and drop bombs without her suit. Or shoot lasers from her hand.

That is if we unclone him. If we DON'T unclone him, then he won't have the viruses, or the defibrillator. He kinda has to have megavitamins, though, cause that is what the Doc uses in all the Dr Mario games.

Alt Select = Alt Select.
The only TRUE one is Ryu and Evil Ryu.
Samus is able to become Zero Suit Samus IN-GAME. Ryu cannot transform into Evil Ryu.
The only reason why Zero Suit Samus is an "alt-select" is to make it easier to start with her, rather than holding a button like in Brawl.
Once Zelda and Sheik are in, there is no doubt Sheik will get the same treatment. Same with Pokemon Trainer, and (God forbid) Rival Trainer.
Evil Ryu is the only TRUE Alt-Select. Dr. Mario would be the second.

Think of it as an alternate costume, then. Not too farfetched. Though it'd be a little different than an alternate costume.

Yeah, because a doctor that throws pills is equal to a intergalactic bounty hunter with high-tech armor.
An Alt. Select is basically an alternate version of a character. If they alternate version were to have a non-cloned moveset, what would be the point in making it an Alt. Select? It'd be better to make the character seperate.

The only thing that Dr. Mario has truly done that's different from Mario is throw pills.
I'm not saying that giving him a non-cloned moveset is bad, but just save it for when he's a seperate character again.
If he's an alt, he should be relatively similar to Mario, like Evil Ryu to Ryu.
Especially considering Mario's sprites are the base.

Simple Solution. Keep A moves, (Except Elemental status) And change B moves. Problem solved. I'm going to bed. Mothers day was tiring for me.
