1, You CAN'T count the SSB series because this is ABOUT the SSB series.
2, He DIDN'T have it in SSB64.
3, He DIDN'T have it in SMB3.

Alright, fine. He used the cape in one full game, and in a Japan-only e-Reader level of a remake of another game.
But you two are really missing the point and it's pissing me off. The point is that Mario doesn't rely on his clothes to fight like Samus relies on her armor. The cape, like I said, is not being discussed.

I wasn't saying that Mario relied on his clothes to fight.
I'm saying that Dr. Mario would have different equipment. Like Samus/Zero Suit Samus.

Has it been confirmed that Dr. Mario is going to be a form of Mario selectable on the CSS like Evil Ryu is to Ryu? I see that sprites are being made for him, and DMX is talking like he's in for sure. Has it been offically confirmed?

On topic: If Dr. Mario is a form, how different from Mario would he be? Also, would they go with a "Dr. Finale" FS where he shoots electricity instead of fire?

Falcon has said he was okay with one of the movesets, if he runs it by the others I dont really see why they'd say no, so hopefully he gets added. Though I doubt most people would consider that a completely new character.

DMX gave the implication that he'd be like Evil Ryu, and selectable as an alt for Mario. That way, he doesn't take up part of the roster, and doesn't need to be uncloned.

This is the one time that I agree with DMX.
If you plan on making Dr. Mario a clone, make him an alt of Mario like Evil Ryu. If you plan to de-clone him, make him a separate character.
This way, we get Dr. Mario either way, and there isn't too many complaints. Exceptionally less ones than if Dr. Mario was a clone and was seperate from Mario.
