Well, apparently Phantom announced (in chatroom) that Scizor and Gengar are in, so it's more of Rival than pokemon trainer.

However, Phantom has ideas surrounding Pokemon Trainer- perhaps changing Squirtle and Ivysaur. He refuses to cut Charizard. Good god no!!!!!!!!! changing the Brawl Trainer's Pokemon is like demanding suicide. You just don't do that. Phantom needs to rethink this. We FINALLY have every Brawl vet & wanted Melee reps on our roster. Don't break it. Seeing how Phantom is considering it, hopefully he would rethink this and realize that changing them Pokemon on the Trainer will not go good with tons of fans overall. |

Actually. I don't recall exactly. But I believe he said something like "Plans are to replace them with Gengar and Scizor" or "We're planning on removing them with Scizor and Gengar".
IDK, something of the like.

Aw crap. Why are they getting removed?
Heck, I have some work done on a Squirtle expansion I'm doing. Maybe that could help in convincing them otherwise.
At least they should have the three starters, (Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard) alone if they aren't going to program the trainer. Or at the very least, just keep Squirtle.

He wants me to begin spriting soon. It's a little heart-breaking to drop Squirtle. If you (for some reason) are confused over who will replace Squirt and Ivysaur, it's Gengar and Scizor. Yep, no more Aggron!
I know you guys don't like it (I don't like cutting veterans), but the best thing to do is to just wait and see how it turns out. In the long run, I do have charge over the two new Pokemon's moves. I could make them pretty fun.

I'd REALLY LOVE to see the train of thought Phantom took to get to that trainer. It's like "They hate Aggron the most, let's get rid of it and put Charizard in Rival, then ax Brawl pokemon trainer."
You can't even call him Pokemon Trainer anymore. He's more Rival than Red.

If so, you should also be allowed to change which pokemon you want in battle. (squirtle, ivysaur, charizard, gengar, scizor, if you're going to be so picky about Rival in).

Whatever. Pokemon Trainer is pretty much gone now.
Let's not pretend like he's still there and have him in the background. Since this is now dubbed PhantomVII Trainer by us, a PhantomVII based trainer should be in the background.

HOW ABOUT THIS.
Put Gengar and Scizor, and something else, on a COOLTRAINER.
Representing hardcore fans with big-name pokemon.
That would be acceptable. IMO.
