EDIT: No idea what's going on, gimme a sec...
SORRY FOR THE WEIRD DOUBLE POST. I've fixed it now.
Goddanged forum crashing right as I made a post. Now I have to re-write it.
Just going to repost this with slightly different wording:
DMX, you want Gengar and Scizor in? GET SPRITING.
I once again challenge you to sprite, for both Gengar and Scizor: The idle, a smash attack, a special other than D-special, and the D-Special, as well as post the rest of the special moveset for each of them. Maybe after you've done this we'll be more willing to accept this new version of Pokemon Trainer, who, IMO, would work better titled as "Ace Trainer".
Why am I asking you to do this?
Because you constantly say sprites are the largest issue, and yet you are suggesting the characters that would need more sprites than any other character on the roster. Sure, Squirtle and Ivysaur need sprites also, but we have people willing to sprite them. Gigapichu said he might even be willing to do some Ivysaur sprites after finishing Ridley, IIRC, and Generic and I would be happy to work on Squirtle.
Look at me. I wanted a character in, I made sprites. Sure, he was rejected by Phantom (and now you), but now I'm even putting the effort in to completely resprite him so he can be reconsidered, even though I know you guys will stop at nothing to keep him off the roster. Now look at you. You're suggesting a character that needs a TON of sprites. Are YOU willing to put in the work to keep him on the roster? If so, go right ahead. Prove that I'm wrong.
(completely new stuff starts here)
And don't give me that "I'll sprite when I feel like it" crap again. This character is a huge undertaking, and here you are boasting that he'll be in 0.8, with NO work to show for it. Show that you're dedicated to accomplishing this on your own. If you want him in the game so soon so badly, then start spriting. As soon as Ace Trainer is in the game, we won't be able to argue him out of it. End of story. You win. Until then, he's still up in the air. Get Phantom to help if you need to. Werekill as well, since I recall learning to sprite was on his list this summer. But I'll guarantee you this: The Spriting Team won't give you any help with Gengar and Scizor. We all share views on their inclusion. Which means the responsibility falls to you.
Here are your two options, and this is aimed at the WHOLE Dev Team: Make the spritesheet, put Ace Trainer in the game and put this whole issue to rest, or give up on Ace Trainer's inclusion and bring back Brawl Pokemon Trainer. Multiple members of the Spriting Team are willing to work on Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard, whereas you're the only one who'll be working on Ace Trainer. Discuss this with Phantom and Falcon, if need be. Just know you have to do all the spriting work, or at least most of it if Phantom and Werekill help out.
At the end of the day, it all comes down to this:
No sprites, no character.
That's all I have to say on the matter. Phantom on the other hand, I'd like to have a calm discussion with, but knowing him he won't even reply to me.
